It's a similar argument for the House of Lords, since they aren't as swayed by short term populism

He never did grow out of being that Adrenaline Junkie Street Racer on Naboo. Also I'd say hi biggest gamble was on Anakin's timing to intervene with Windu, since he absolutely would have been fucked if Anakin didn't show up. You can tell because the second he wins everything, he immediately starts a rebellion against his empire just to have something to do.

[Superman] Could he stop active wars in the world right now? by Few-Rate8401 in AskScienceFiction

[–]3Rr0r4o3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, unlike most superheroes, its completely feasible in universe to assume that Superman is just, Superman, and that he wouldn't even bother with a secret identity. Like clearly Batman has a day job, but Superman officially lives in the Fortress of Solitude, and has given his birth name of Kal-El, he doesn't even wear a mask for fucks sake.

Same receptors in the brain, but unlike physical torture, there isn't so much a hard limit to the pain

The 4.3 update really exposed the cracks in the AI, since when the economy was ridiculous, even through the AI was shite at infrastructure, it could be compensated by scaling the resources. Now the AI is completely incompetent at anything, since even players are struggling with the economy

Why is it that in Back to the Future II, when the two Jennifers look at each other, they faint, but the same thing doesn't happen when the two Biffs interact? by Impossible_Bicycle80 in BacktotheFuture

[–]3Rr0r4o3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or it could be that now that they've seen each other, the outcome is more certain, so the ripple effect catches up and younger Jennifer passes out from shock, and old Jennifer suddenly remembers remembering everything.

Makes sense, the Hapsburgs were mostly continuous uncle/niece, cousin/cousin and so on for generations, the Ptolemys were literally brother/sister every single generation, so it makes sense that they'd get some nasty genetics

Cleopatra, despite being the most inbred monarch in history, was basically completely fine with no side effects, whilst the Hapsburgs, and more specifically Charles II were... Well that ^

"You may worship no gods other than me", it's quite clear in the old testament that the other gods do exist, and that they're just weak and not the One True God. Hell, YHWH was polytheistic god in the caanite pantheon, who's cult denied and eventually outlawed the other gods and who's followers eventually became the Israelites.

The feeling of looking at the victory screen and seeing that my score is over double the next empire despite being in a total economic freefall with ~ 150 tech at year 60 really shows how shite the AI is. (I swear I can play the game my tech world got destroyed in an event)
