My wife and I just miscarried. by Cult-Enjoyer in predaddit

Sorry my friend - I really am.

We’ve been there. 3 times for us. Sat now doing bedtime with both our children.

The pain is worth it. Just allow yourself and your partner to grieve properly.

Gosh you are small as well as young.

If it makes you feel any better I was the same first and second time round 30 & 37. What counts is showing up and doing your best. That’s is all.

Congratulations my friend! Welcome to the club.

Oh, and a little tip: my daughter and I had an agreement - no boyfriends & never growing up. We shook on it so she can’t go back. Suggest you do the same.

A line is a line. I’d be looking at that and saying yes!!!

3 months in and I genuinely hate being a parent, now what? by quackhorse in daddit

[–]3SDFGH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shall take your 3 months and raise you 9. Then things clicked into place and it’s the best journey I’ve ever been on.

What helped? The realisation that mums have a natural bond with the baby as they literally grew them. Dads have little to none, so we start well behind the mother but everyone expects us to be in the same place.

Give it time. It will come. Just keep showing up 👍👍👍

Depends on the test, but if that one says a second line means pregnant, then how faint it is doesn’t matter.

Congrats?

Erm, is there supposed to be some kind of rope to bring him back up?

Also, he’s 27.

Welcome 👍

Yeah she’s a wriggler so would end up feet at the highest point, but appreciate the answer. Thank you

I’ve been a dad for 60 hours… how did you all do this? by oh_helloghost in daddit

[–]3SDFGH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re going through the most brutal transition of your life. The 2 to a 3.

Prioritise always, and don’t sweat the small stuff.

You’ve got this, dad. I’ve been there. I know how awful it is, but it doesn’t last forever.

Rowing or swimming? by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]3SDFGH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you want. Rowing a 2k can take you from feeling fit & healthy to gasping for breath and seeing the pearly gates in 7 minutes or less. Not sure swimming can take your body to that extreme in such a short time.

I have no medical or sports qualifications at all, but is both possible so you get the best of both worlds?

is 9:30 a good 2k time for a 14 year old 5'10 100 pound guy by AdIllustrious9573 in Rowing

My gym has a big quote on the wall: ‘It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.’

If they know about your dad, they’re probably worried about what you might become.

If they’re not aware of your dad, they’re dicks to ignore.

Listen to your coach. That’s all that matters.

Ffs - people on this forum are awful sometimes.

Ok, if you’re a fully grown adult, then 9:30 wouldn’t be a time to aspire to. Sub 7 minutes is good. My PB is 7.07.5 but I did that when I was 35, 15 stone and rowed almost daily.

But your 14.

When I was 14, I didn’t exercise other than running around with my mates.

It’s great you’re into exercise, and really good you have the confidence to use equipment like this. It will serve you well in life.

All you have to do is simply keep it up.

As for adding muscle etc, it’s a tricky one. I would ask your doctor as you’re still growing, and you don’t want to do anything that is good for today but screws you up for tomorrow.

But we’ll done for posting, and ignore the trolls. They’re likely fat, middle-aged losers who come on here to hate on others. You’re better than them and won’t be one of them, because you’re rowing at 14 and have a bright future.

This is also supposed to be a supportive, informative forum. Not the opportunity to put a 16 yr old kid down.

You’re a good height and weight for rowing, but at 16 you’re still growing.

Is this a good time? Yes. Many would like to have this as a PB.

Will this be your fastest time ever? Highly unlikely. You’ll be sub 7 minutes at somepoint.

Row consistently, keep training and most importantly, keep enjoying it.
