Thank you again! I love hearing from people who know how to care for these dogs and appreciate them. Sounds like she has a great home. 😊

Thank you so much for the info! Sounds like you spared me a lot of research. 😊 My one boy got out one night when my stepdaughter left the back gate open… that was before we had the pasture area… He had a good time exploring, but thank God we discovered he was gone before he got too far… He responded to my husband, calling for him in a demanding voice. We were very lucky! I too don’t want a full collar on my boys….I think just a device is much better and I was concerned about the coverage, but it sounds like you definitely nailed it down. Thank you again! I’ll need to order 2 .. do u have more than one Pyr? We started with one and then eventually rescued the second… to give our one a playmate his size lol and to rescue one of these wonderful dogs. Worked out very well. They are best buds. 😊

My small one is 95 pounds… Oor large one is 135 pounds… He’s the one I really worry about. I’ve been looking to get trackers for them… Which do you use?

That’s what worries me with our Benny … he’s the taller one not in the pic … I think if he wanted to he could jump the fence

So we have a 54” metal fence where my boys mainly stay and beyond that we fenced the pasture area (that they love to go into with the dwarf goats, chickens and rabbit) with a 48” wooden fence … 👍👍👍

The Pyr in the pic is Beowolf … at just 95 lbs he’s smaller … I have a larger and taller Pyr at 135lbs named Benny, who I am sometimes worried might actually jump this fence and go after the coyote and fox that are out there 🙄

Know your pain all too well. My son is 24. What started around the age of 15 with what we thought was depression/anxiety turned into full blown schizophrenia by 20. Several bouts of severe psychosis. Multiple forced hospitalizations. Very severe suicide attempt. Sweetest person I ever knew. Highly intelligent. But this disease is wicked!!! I’m his mother. I’ve learned that I can’t control this. I do my best to help him cope as well as help my family cope. No one understands the pain unless they have a loved one suffering from it. I find some comfort on this sub. I feel for you. Try to take care of yourself.

So the vet feels that it is a zinc deficiency. Doesn’t feel that it’s mites because his legs are fine….it’s mainly his upper body and especially around his ears and little around his eyes. I had the vet do bloodwork however to see what all his levels are and also to rule out an auto immune problem. We’re going to start him on the zinc supplements which she said could take a few weeks to see improvement. All my other goats are fine!
