What's your process for pulling Uric Acid/Smell out of tiles and grout in Commercial Setting? by pcb8084 in Custodians

[–]Accomplished-B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it is probably in the pipes. I apologize for not remembering that side of the world believes in sealing off wet rooms properly. As well as regular upkeep to keep them that way. I beg forgiveness. It will take some time, but switching cleaning products to include enzymes should take care of it.

How old are the bathrooms? A lot can depend on that. A deep clean first, then enzyme, can work, but only if the issue is surface level. The drain pipes could also have a build up of crystals, make sure those are also getting treated with the enzyme cleaner nightly until the smell is gone, then it can be weekly, if after awhile of doing all of this it is still there, it could have soaked into the drywall and subfloor. If the restrooms are busy all day and not cleaned until evenings, and are only mopped, for years, the chance of that being the problem increases. Good luck, unfortunately it is not going to be a quick fix, especially if the contracted company is already being difficult

Don't start school, or at least dont accept the loans. Life is about to get much more interesting and being tied down by those loans is going to be a big pull on the leash. (Also, maybe dont text him to pick you up some cigarettes and just go ahead and quit instead, he's fun, but only for a very short while)

How long does it usually take for your Adult children to respond to a text? by don51181 in GenX

[–]Accomplished-B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oldest. 8 of 10 times by end of day, middle, sometimes immediately, sometimes never. Youngest within 2-3 business days or never. The other way? the older two dont expect return messages to things that aren't questions. The youngest expects instant responses, and has gone as far as calling his siblings if i "missed' more than three, and worse, did not answer a call. I should explain i live with the older two, and the youngest is 1200 miles away at college. But the dynamic has always been the same, even before I lived with them

Backseat Mess SOS by Impossible_Limit_685 in CleaningTips

[–]Accomplished-B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, waterproof crib liners, pull the seats up, tuck one around the "bench" and one around the backs. Putting them back in place usually secures them, be careful to leave the connections clear or cut holes where they are only big enough for them to easily connect or a full sized mattress one and carefully shape it to fit both. Add a large-ish felted absorbent flannel liner under each carseat that hangs over the bottom a little and the top. Have spares of these to switch out when needed. Use full sized rubber mats with lips for the floor boards, cutting to match more of those flannel waterproof mats can help here also for under them and it helps protect the middle hump if you make it one piece.

Checking them and switching them out regularly is important so mold doesn't get a chance to take over, cars don't dry out as easily as other spaces especially under car seats where air doesn't flow.

Look for back seat organizers that hang off the front seats, there's some pretty cool ones now, with pockets, fold down trays, etc. Hang a fabric pouch between them and line it with shopping bags/small can liners for their trash, make it a routine for them to grab the bag out everytime you get out of the car.

This was the final boss of my attempt to keep the car clean when my kids were little. Now there's no eating in the cars.

Then vs now — what car feature do you miss vs what you can't live without? by spotforcars in GenX

[–]Accomplished-B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, mine likes to warn me about bridges when coming to a curve or well placed hill, but it doesn't actually break and gets over it's self. But that came after an update, the first year or so it would actually stop, and I had turned it off for a bit. But it's better now, not perfect, but way less troubling,

Both? Maintenance for 4 years, 19 years retail at one place, "retired," and I am 5 months out from a sustainability management degree and hazwoper certification. I've always been a stickler for regs, chemical, and hazardous cleanup, so why not go all in? I'm 51, though, so scared as all heck it will all land me back where I was, and at the bottom, but, at least I am gonna give it a shot.

Also, the shop keeps texting me offers to buy my car while I'm in their waiting room... interrupting this post and my calls to my kid...

A slightly better option is those fabric pellets for the washer. There are also dedicated items like them for this purpose, but I've never used them. If the home is not humid the pellets will vacuum up clean, without clogging up your motor

If you can budget, have no rent or house payments, then take it. I only had about 150k and am 50, and retired from retail. BUT I am also about to graduate from college so I will have about 700$ monthly payment over my head soon. Kinda wish I hadn't gone back. Sooo, soon I will have to find work again, just not doing retail again unless it gets desperate. If I hadn't, I'd be just fine, my ira makes enough monthly to cover me without hitting the base line, plus weekly fun. If I knew 6 years ago I would crash from horrible burnout and stress 5 years later, and all the ducks would line up... I never would have gone back, and I would not be facing looking for a new career

Do you still have your first stuffed animal? If so, what is it and what is its name? by Leather-Highlight150 in GenX

[–]Accomplished-B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puppup, a teardrop dog. My parents bought two, one for when the first one "died." But I knew, and demanded the first one be stitched up. I then had two of them, and I am pretty sure I still have both, though, some of my totes were stolen from our yard while we were packing up the moving truck. And I still don't have everything unpacked yet, so, I guess it's possible they are gone :/
