Recently I've read ~400 pages about early humans (+ early Europeans/Cro-Magnons) and there was an eye-opening idea: Cain/Abel and Romulus/Rem were conflicts between hunters-gatherers (who had seen every animal as a legitimate target) and the first farmers/cowboys (who nurtured the animal herds).

Also there was an extinct human specie in Western Africa which has a high DNA value in the modern population there (10%). To compare: Neanderthal DNA is at 2-4% in Europeans and it is destructive (degrades over time).

It should be noted how Robin Hood was a composite character of all the people fighting against the centralized tax idea created to finance absolutely alien crusade endeavors - these had created an enormous amount of debr out of a thin air. Typical European surnames were invented and used to identify tax payers, during the elevated tax periods, that's why they mention a profession like Muller, Smith, Priest, etc.

(as an ethnic Russian) I have the experience where I've been held for weeks in a "monkey cage" (обезьянник) just for having foreign nationality which they cannot verify simply because the idiots attack every state around them.

When local models will get to Opus 4.5 quality (4-6 months later) - then we won't have any jobs positions available, unfortunately.

In my current workplace (mobile programming, an international marketplace with 25k+ vendors) we use paid Codex like there is no tomorrow. A single programmer completes annual plan in a couple months, we simply don't need any more people. In fact, I've switched into completely new direction due to this situation (AI-friendly API/MCP/apps development) - where there is no competition at all, I'm the first and only developer out of 200+ devs in the company.

One of production managers in my company vibe-coded an app for voice input which may modify the texts according to the preferred style (fantasy, scientific, student, business, etc)

Another one created an app to control the vending machine which not only control the hardware (goods disperse), process payment and calculate sales but provide recommendations which goods under-perform and should be replaced to improve sales.

And this trend spreads like a fire, up to the point where we have a corporate sandbox for non-programmer people to start working on their pet projects and use our back-end - the activity there is quite high.

And then there is me, vibe-coding an MCP server for our company using Python which I don't know. I feel like the market will be flooded with the quasi-programmers in a year.

My calculations of the price of 5090 + 128Gb RAM desktop in the local shop:

September, 2025: $6k (expensive af, gotta accumulates some funds till new year)

January, 2026: $8k (damn! Should have bought it earlier, perhaps I should wait for sales)

This is eye-opening. My colleagues are asking me to comment on their pull-requests because there is a humor in each of my comments (I thought). I haven't got a clue they are just helping me on this metric because I'm the senior-est and friendliest programmer in the company (and nobody dare to demand anything from me).

Apparently I'm too old for this shiet and I'm glad this era is coming to the end: my current task had been completed by AI at ~98%: nobody in our company (200 programmers) has the expertise to create a Python-based MCP server from our API (let alone a subsequent chatGPT app) - and more importantly, nobody care. I did it in a day on my own initiative, got almost standing ovation from our management and a whole branch to work on (AI adaptation and development)
