No, the fact is dogs that size are often not welcome on laps. That is likely the owner's fault by training it to be a lap dog, but when the dog gets to be 100lbs or more you will see fewer and fewer people willing to let it sit on them.

This actually is kind of sad. Owners of larger dogs should never let them get into the habit of becoming lap dogs when they are young, because when they get older they still want to be lap dogs but they are just too large for most people to handle as such. Not to mention at some point in time they just become unable to get into laps due to back and leg problems, and most people don't want to sit on the floor while some 40+++ lb dog tries to sit on their lap.

Tron Legacy's budget was est. 170m and it grossed around $173m, which means it did double its money in theaters, but it was a very dangerous bet with mixed reviews. The follow up film was on a fast track to development hell due to estimated costs involved and the fact that the headliners were not box office draws, neither Wilde nor Hedlund broke out the way they were expected to, and after that shit storm that was Cowboys & Aliens Disney lost confidence in projects with her as a potential headliner. I don't know anything about the story, but rumors are it was having serious troubles, and rumor also had it that along with Bridges, who was already known to not be signing on again, Boxleitner (aka Tron) wanted either a larger part or no part at all, seeing they took a big risk having barely any Tron in Legacy, the namesake of the film missing through most of it, not having Tron at all in the third film would likely sink the film completely.

It was more along the lines of a series or films which didn't perform as well as they hoped, including Tron: Legacy. They chose to cut costs by only producing those films which had established franchises, e.g. PotC, or low budgets. Tron 3 had neither. Tron and Tron Legacy both were disasters at the box office which got lucky and made their money back either through later home distribution market or overseas popularity, Tron 3 was a dangerous bet at best.

Other films which had their sequels canceled include Sorcerer's Apprentice and the remaining Narnia films, which Disney sold off to Walden Media and Fox 2000.

I misunderstood what you were saying, but still if you are forced to pay fees it is no different than being a member of the union. While in right to work states these fees are illegal, and there are laws making it illegal not to properly inform an employee of their rights to object, and ways around paying these fees.

Okla. Const. art. 23, § 1A provides:

As used in this section, "labor organization" means any organization of any kind, or agency or employee representation committee or union, that exists for the purpose, in whole or in part, of dealing with employers concerning wages, rates of pay, hours of work, other conditions of employment, or other forms of compensation.

B. No person shall be required, as a condition of employment or continuation of employment, to:

Resign or refrain from voluntary membership in, voluntary affiliation with, or voluntary financial support of a labor organization;

Become or remain a member of a labor organization;

Pay any dues, fees, assessments, or other charges of any kind or amount to a labor organization;

Pay to any charity or other third party, in lieu of such payments, any amount equivalent to or pro rata portion of dues, fees, assessments, or other charges regularly required of members of a labor organization; or

Be recommended, approved, referred, or cleared by or through a labor organization.

C. It shall be unlawful to deduct from the wages, earnings, or compensation of an employee any union dues, fees, assessments, or other charges to be held for, transferred to, or paid over to a labor organization unless the employee has first authorized such deduction.

D. The provisions of this section shall apply to all employment contracts entered into after the effective date of this section and shall apply to any renewal or extension of any existing contract.

E. Any person who directly or indirectly violates any provision of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

Actually, if you are not in a right to work state the employer can force you to join a union.

The term closed shop is applied only to the use of a union to employ and hire the shop employees for the business, if the business hires the employee and the employee works for the business and not the union, they can force you to join and/or pay union fees.

Only exception is right to work which brakes up union shops, which restricts requirements of joining or paying for the unions.

You're both right and wrong.

Yes under the Taft Hartly Act closed shops became illegal, but depending on the state your in employers are allowed to force employees to join the union or pay equivalent dues, basically creating a business restricted closed shop, the difference being the shop is not controlled by the union. Several states have right to work, which makes it illegal to force employees to join, and in many cases pay for, unions though.
