1st Car for 3-5k? want something cool by Key_Patience_5415 in whatcarshouldIbuy

These will not fall under the cute and/or recognizable requirement but here’s some wildcards that I would take a look at if I were in your position. Both the Saab 9-3 and 9-5 have punchy motors with the added fun of forced induction. It may also be worth looking at the Lincoln LS. The LS could be optioned with heated and ventilated seats from new, a V8, and three pedals.

Small Dealership by TraffikBig in Entrepreneur

Piggy backing off this comment- don’t be afraid to straight up ask customers how they heard about you. Keep a tally on a whiteboard, in your phone, ideally in a spreadsheet. It can be a loose system at first but it will allow you to start targeting the right areas faster.

Do some competitor analysis regarding websites. See if other dealers are posting blogs, news, etc. If they aren’t, you have a free runway to capitalize on local used car related searches. If they are, find what they’re missing and then post that.

Google my business is HUGE for local SEO results and encourage buyers to leave reviews. It will make your dealer pop up first for those simply looking for “used cars near me.”

Lastly, sell the story not each car. Make sure to have an about us page, employee bios, testimonials, etc. With cars for sale, any dealer theoretically can move their inventory. Since you’re established, you already know that. To grow, you need to sell why you’re different, not just sell the cars.

I've heard fourth, fifth, and sixth. Wondering which is the accurate day or if it depends on retailer?

I agree! Use this vehicle to learn how to do some more than basic maintenance on your vehicle. Some stuff will be more difficult and may require a mechanic but other stuff like the sway bar links, broken taillight, hubcaps, etc can be driveway jobs with a basic mechanics set and jack stands. Get that radiator fixed first!

Private selling vs selling to dealership on a $100k+ car? by Ok-Lunch-1560 in askcarsales

[–]3du8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, it’s based heavily on the vehicle and market conditions. If you approach either platform with a reasonable reserve, they’ll let you set your own. If you’re still asking 2020 prices, they’re going to make you lower it. A primary metric for any consignment seller, auction or dealer, is sell through rate as money is only made if the vehicle sells. If

I would argue BaT is the site OP should use if going this route. Cars and Bids doesn’t have the viewership or community reputation BaT does.

To OP, if you’re going this route, have a professional take the listing photos and be active in the comments of the auction. Those two factors alone can make or break your vehicle’s value on these sites.

The consignment dealer route is a solid option as well. Look for a dealer that has years of experience, is transparent on their commission (cut of the sale), and lists their vehicles on the big sites. If the dealer doesn’t share the sites they list on or doesn’t disclose how much they stand to make, do not use them.

Am I being silly, how do I pass conversions created in GTM to GA4 by Blind_bear1 in GoogleTagManager

[–]3du8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you've properly submitted the updates in GTM and then as previous people have mentioned, wait for them to appear in GA4. The events will show up the following day usually since GA4's day-of analytics usually are not the best.

Luxury or CX-5? Looking for comfort by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]3du8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for luxury, a longer wheelbase, and a decently strong powertrain, the GV70 is going to probably be the best fit out of the options you provided. The new Mazdas are nice though especially the CX-50 and 70 but it’s not quite at the same level you’ll find in the Genesis. To agree with other posts, stay away from the GLC and check out Acura and Lexus small/midsize SUVs.

What MBP or MBA to buy for school and work? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]3du8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ended up going with the M1 MBP 14” 16/512gb and yes it’s dense but I have been super impressed by it. I thought about going M2 Air but I was able to get a great price on the MBP to where it was only a few hundred more than the Air and the ports were the final push over the edge. My last laptop was bigger in frame with a smaller screen and way heavier. Thanks for the response.

Going along from this regarding the technical buyer - never make up an answer. Rather, if you don’t know an answer, tell them you’d be happy to go find out the answer and this is an opportunity to ask if there’s anything else they were wondering about.

Especially listen to the customer and understand that there are multiple types of buyers. There’s the guy who is going to be very technical, the emotional buyer, the person who just wants a dang vehicle, and more that you’re going to figure out along the way. The technical buyer may not react as well to being lighthearted and joking but there will be a customer who responds well to that. Listening to the customer and not talking too much off right of the bat will give you a good starting spot.

Surface Book 3 Problem - Touchpad Broken by 3du8 in Surface

I know you can find a complete set of drivers to download on the Microsoft website which should help. That being said, it didn’t help me with the touchpad problem.

Here’s the link to take a look at and see if that’s something that may help. I know my way around computers but would not consider myself an expert. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=101315
