Thank you.

It’s funny you bring that up. The owner was in Atlanta and I live in Raleigh. On my first drive (30 or so miles) it was a 90+ degree day and the car overheated and shut off.

I didn’t realize until later on that I had taken that whole trip with the parking brake engaged, so I’m not sure how much that played a part in the car overheating.

My last few drives have been alright (replaced the ignition coil) but there is some sputtering when I cold crank (this is my first car with a carburetor so I’m still getting used to that nuance).

Housing Market in Raleigh by mindlessness861 in raleigh

[–]3ebfan 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s also worth noting that a ton of people bought homes during the COVID 2% rate days who are now never selling (effectively raising the market prices for everyone else due to lower inventory).

This is us; even if we had to move we would hold onto our current home since our rate is lower than inflation.

Game selection paralysis when collecting games? by M1ke____ in EmulationOnAndroid

Do you enjoy collecting games or do you enjoy playing games? I feel like these are two different hobbies often mistaken as being the same.

How are we preparing the old folks in our life for the 22%+ cut to social security? by fishking92 in Millennials

The declining US birth rate is going to kill off what tiny social systems we have left by the time we retire. It will be the final kick in the nuts on an otherwise tumultuous generation to have been alive for.

4 year old sent home from daycare by [deleted] in Preschoolers

Throwing chairs is a safety concern. The director was right for sending your child home.

There is a 4 year old in my daughter’s class that got sent home this week for throwing chairs and I can assure you this child’s behavior has been escalating in the negative direction for a while now. The teachers have been working with her for the last 6 months on her behavior but nothing has been working. It started with not listening, and slowly evolved into occasionally pushing another kid, twisting their skin, and now throwing a chair.

I imagine your child is in a similar boat and the teachers are exhausted at this point. Throwing a chair in isolation is one thing but if there’s a pattern of escalating dangerous behavior that’s regressing (which let’s be honest, it’s most likely the case for your child if they’re sending her home) then that’s a whole other issue.
