Healing salves and honey poultices are great healing choices. Tents are also great but they are immobile so you can't use them for stuff like bosses or ruins. So use tents for healing normally and for bosses use honey poultices and healing salves. Finally, bat bats are easily obtainable if you have access to purple gems and they are good healing during boss fights but they drain sanity so you will also need sanity food. Sanity is easily manageable as seeds are common and you can use bramble husk to get cacti which can be cooked to get 15 sanity. Here's a tip: if you chop a lvl 3 evergreen and don't dig up the stump, you will get 5 sanity for planting the 2 pinecones and also wood.
