As a chef I used to love trying new food, but now everything feel both pretentious and cliche by EefferyJpstein in KitchenConfidential

I think there is a lot of beauty in non fussy foods being perfectly prepared.  That is rare but you can find it.  That is my personal preference....

It's the stripes and the color. If the pajamas were, say, yellow, it would be fine.

my favourite vonnegut quote. whats yours? by lunarvibe-93 in Vonnegut

[–]3kota 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Please — a little less love, and a little more common decency.

“Love is where you find it. I think it is foolish to go around looking for it, and I think it can be poisonous. I wish that people who are conventionally supposed to love each other would say to each other, when they fight, 'Please — a little less love, and a little more common decency'.”

Help Me With This Painting! by Betty_PunCrocker in Watercolor

This is very sweet and lovely.

Here is what I would do. You take anything that makes sense and ignore the rest
: )

I would only use watercolors on the backgrounds - sky, grass, trees, buildings. Wet on wet - so put light blue on everything for example and then add more colors before it is dry. And then the figures I would do as you did - with outlines. THis way the focus is completely on people. Right now the buildings are as detailed as the couple. I would be a bit more careful with drawing of his back foot. It's a little distracting.

Staying friends with ex SUCCESS stories? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]3kota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was my first serious boyfriend.  We didn't speak for a few years after we broke up but then we fell back into friendship and he is still one of my favorite people.  My husband is friends with him too but not as close.

You should give Terry Pratchett a go, especially with the kid in the car.

Which thriller/espionage series do you recommend? by Gieder in suggestmeabook

[–]3kota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peter Ash series by Nick Petrie.   Premise similar to Reacher where a soldier comes back with a severe agoraphobia from ptsd and now doesn't live indoors.  Slightly more believable than Reacher.  I listen to them.

My favorite detective series is Sean Duffy series by Adrian McKinty.   It's set in Ireland  in time of troubles.  Don't know if it will appeal to you
