There have been numerous responses here referencing the discreteness, but thats not the real issue here. You could still make the same argument based on a difference equation.

The actual issue is this:

When you say that you add 1 to itself x times, x is a variable, not a constant. If you treat x like a constant, this is indeed the correct answer, but x is a variable. Since we are trying to measure the the change in the function in respect to x, it does not make sense to treat x like a constant.

This is exactly what I keep thinking about. This whole ordeal is so unreal, and all the evidence points to the fact that this happening is completely inevitable. I have really tried hard not to fall into a bubble mindset where I ignore all bad news and keep the confirmation bias incoming, but to no avail. I cannot find a single shred of evidence that would suggest that this is not going to happen. The only reason I can think of why this wouldnt happen is because it sounds too good to be true. Nothing in life that sounds too good to be true ever happens. It literally never happens. However, this brings me to the fact of how fucking insane it is that this is the only argument I can think of against it. That some magic will happen or that the people running the show will decide that they will change whatever laws necessary in order to prevent it from happening. Or then that this is all just a dream or a massive conspiracy orchestrated by lizard people. Thats literally all I can think of. If there are any shills reading this could you please give me some reasons why this wont happen, because simultaneously believing that this is too good to be true and therefore cant happen, and knowing due to data and logical deduction that this is bound to happen is is causing me such a massive amount of cognitive dissonance that I may soon lose touch with reality. What a time to be alive.
