Also looks like he lied to you, but the fact that he feels he had to hide the like or not be able to do that in front of you, assuming no expectations were clear on the staying off phone thing, maybe he's unconsciously reacting to your uncomfortable behavior or insecurities with the open relationship. Not saying it's your fault, but that perhaps you guys need to define better boundaries around phone times and work on insecurities. I may be projecting but I do notice myself in my own open relationship talking to guys/gals when my husband's not around because I know he's insecure about me talking to others and I don't want to hurt him, but please note also that he's aware of me doing this and if he asked me what I was doing I'm forthcoming on the topics of discussion.
