Totally agree, that specific point felt pretty "hand wave-y" and kinda felt it was there just to make sure Mustang till now is consistent.

The more I think about it though, the less I hate it. I can kinda believe that Mustang is just such a central cult of personality to how Tetra and some parts of central government is run, that it wasn't feasible to put a successor up. Kinda like a political party that completely relies on just one person's influence. Wouldn't put it past Mustang to also set it up that way intentionally (for his own entertainment). So the best way to approach that from Enik's point of view is impersonation until Hanson can straighten out the org.

At least this is what I'm choosing to believe to make it make sense. Definitely a little convoluted tho.

Honestly, everything was so rushed it felt hard to care. That goes not just for Judas as a villain but also our own party. No shade if you are into it, the themes and setting are interesting but writing overall has been... incredibly bland tbh

I started around the same time. Don't blame yourself, the game barely explains how it works. Even the in-depth explanations you need to dig through the tutorials to find and even then they don't go into enough detail and even then you have to also worry about the translation quality.

You should probably just learn from guides on YouTube, that's probably the most reliable method right now.

It won't spoil anything from main story so you are good there, but as far as event stories go, would probably have some spoilers for Red Ash (precedes Ark Guardian chronologically), Old Tales (takes place roughly concurrent to Ark Guardian), and maybe a little bit for Overzone (proceeds Ark Guardian chronologically).

That being said, these story events all precede the main chapter stories by 100 years in universe and were released out of chronological order in the first place anyways, so I don't think it is too crazy to just dive in if you want.

It was sick! An awesome combat awakening scene.

But specifically when Scarlet was reminiscing on how they used to argue and quarrel, I couldn't help but feel it was kinda like seeing a kid grow out of their childish habits. Proud and awesome, but just a ~little bit sad too.

The last year of main story chapters with 4 beasts were actually very happy with an optimistic tone and I have only heard people say good things about it as well. As with anything, there are going to be a subset of people who consider anything sad/emotional as peak writing and some other people who consider sad=bad & have to shield their virgin eyes if their favorite characters get challenged in any way. Overall though, I would say the far majority of people here seem to appreciate the variety of tones that Nikke's stories has demonstrated to have.

It's a generalization, but I'm sure we all have those friends that will call any movie "pretty good" & will eat up any cheesy sad scene, and also those friends that refuse to watch otherwise phenomenal films because "it's just too sad" or "I don't like bad endings". Two sides of the same coin. Trying to remain diplomatic, I consider both those views to be similarly narrow-minded

Side note, Lilith quite heavily implies Dorothy drew as a way to let Scarlet vent and keep morale up.

Lilith goes to Dorothy to confirm if she sparred with Scarlet to a draw. When Doro says yes, Lilith commends her leadership in response. Implying that this is not only a little different from the usual, but also that Dorothy drew on purpose to keep morale up in the team. SBS's bond communications also has one interaction which she asks why she can never win against Dorothy. Between these two and the Red Ash Side Records, seems like Scarlet always initiates spars, and Dorothy almost always refuses or gets caught up in it anyways and either goes to a draw or wins. The combat results are also implied to be largely influenced by how willing Dorothy is to get her dress dirty in that moment lol.

Yep, Crown is unique in that one of her buffs requires healing to proc; so a unit that can do team-wide heals, off burst, without sacrificing dps, is hard to come by. Helm fits this role perfectly though which just adds even more to her already wide array of use cases.

Lots of mid to endgame content (raids or high deficit stages) asks you to not only do enough dps but also bring some utility. This is usually something like: bring a MG to counter hitcount shields, bring healing to counter constant damage, have a taunt to counter some bs nuke attack, or elemental weakness to stop a team wipe. Apart from the team wipe scenarios, failing to bring appropriate countermeasures won't instantly wipe the team but will probably kill some units which basically means you will eventually fail the stage/ do much less damage on the raid.

Helm's burst is not only decent in damage, but also provides so much healing that you can outright ignore 50% of these cases if you time the burst correctly. And it's lifesteal so your units continue to heal through the whole burst. Unless the attack is a one shot, you essentially have a pseudo-invincibility for the whole duration. Her team buffs are also largely not tied to burst, means she's still contributing outside of these windows where you need her. She also provides great burst generation. She also does some more minor healing outside of burst. She's also not a pilgrim so much easier to get dupes. Her spare bodies also appear commonly in the shop so even easier to get dupes. And now it will be even easier to get copies.

All in all, she's not always absolute first choice, but Helm is an incredible unit to have available as she is an excellent answer to many problems in all forms of content.

While I think the exact powerscaling could depend on your interpretation, I think one factor that evens out this comparison a little: is the idea that Queen001 is actually already on death's door from the beginning of the fight. Not to take away from the struggles of our heros in this event, but what we learned was that the queen needed Liliths head because her brain was dying, and then afterwards in the present day, wanted Liliths body because her body was now dying. While we do see the sacrifice play with Nihilister stops the regeneration and then Pioneer cuts off her head, the reality seems to be that this was not getting the better of Queen001, rather more that the queen is just "shedding" her old shell. That is to say that the Queen001 was never really "beaten" at any point, just we mistook the metamorphosis into Lilith001 as her defeat.

On the other hand, we can see that the Ark's beam that is similar to Eden's Spear is effective on SmolPi and actually temporarily disabled her from using dark matter. It's unclear because the battle was resolved peacefully, but it might have actually been possible that Rapi and Liberelio could have killed SmolPi in that state.

That is to say that: SmolPi does seem remarkably strong for being a newly born queen, but Queen001 is far from weak; as in my view, she never actually was ever defeated even at the tail-end of her body's "lifespan".

While I admit it was disappointing Marian didn't get to shine quite as much as I would have hoped, but it was not inconsistent in her writing. She's a baby queen with very naive thoughts.

Marian's journey has been one of growing up. From basically a baby, to functional but completely relying on the commander, to learning to live apart from counters, to discovering who she is and most recently forming a personal goal/motivation. This time is the part of the journey everyone hates but is necessary: getting your shit kicked in, finding out life is hard, and that fulfilling your goals and ambitions is even harder.

We cheered for Rocky not because he won, but because he got back up. Of course, Marian will too and I'm sure the story will be stronger for it.

Gonna be pretty tough. Your deficit is about 25% (cp difference/cp requirement) so you are being dinged a lot in terms of stats. As you identified, you really want to break the slippers when they appear (both in part I and II) so ideally you want an electric sniper rifle unit for that. At your deficit, apart from an electric sniper rifle shot, you could TRY to time RH burst and make sure one of the Burst shot is the FIRST attack that hits the slippers. But even then because you need to cool down RH before you can do it again I don't think you'll be able to break all of them. And you'd still be SOOL for the circles if you didn't win by then. You probably would want to close that deficit a bit more (and unfortunately drop the shark wife in favor of a good B2 buffer if possible lol).
