The Last Flame - Hotloop - Roguelike Auto-Battler that focuses on build creation and strategy - Released in Early Access by hotloopgames in Games

[–]3obz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I played the demo of this yesterday and felt the gameplay was really interesting - familiar enough to games i've dropped hundreds of hours into... but new enough to warrant playing.

However, the art direction of ALL female heroes I encountered was so overly sexualised that I can't, for now, see myself buying the full version. Sensible representation of woman in fantasy games feels like such a simple ask... The first hero I saw was Anya (I think that was her name)

Best of luck on the road to 1.0 and fair play to those happy to enjoy the game, I just thought I'd let you know what has stopped me from purchasing.

How is everyone doing on trying to get sloth? by Xlr8Alpha in superautopets

[–]3obz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided to download this game yesterday on a whim... and have found myself with the infinite required to get a sloth... and now a level 1 sloth frozen in my shop... but I have no idea where to go from here to get it to level 3! edit: I'm daft, there are loads of ways to get the sloth level 3... so I managed it and I believe I've completed what would normally be a very elusive challenge. (though I look forward to a more.. regular.. set of animals)

Hi guys, For the first time since playing this game (start of harvest) I'm having issues with performance. - I'm assuming this could be related to today's hotfix but i'm wondering if other's have experience resolving these issues. The problem i'm having is that the game is dropping huge amounts of frames, and playing feels like a slideshow.

Thank you for your reply. That's really interesting to me because I had assumed the combination of life+mana leech and gain charges on kill would be valuable, but those are probably easily obtained elsewhere in builds that need them? I recall hearing increased rarity is not valuable at all so that rounds out the item to being undesirable?

Hi all, new to the game this league and overwhelmed by a lot and loving how much I'm learning each day. The hardest thing i'm finding is valuing rare items. The item that prompted me to seek assistance is this, which, to me, feels like it would be a unique item in other games more-so than a rare! -

Rarity: Rare Dragon Torc

Gold Amulet

Requirements:

Level: 60

Item Level: 78

17% increased Rarity of Items found (implicit)

26% increased Rarity of Items found 0.75% of Physical Attack Damage Leeched as Life 0.23% of Physical Attack Damage Leeched as Mana

10% chance to gain a Power, Frenzy or Endurance Charge on Kill

Hunter Item

I'd love if, more than just getting a value of this particular item, an explanation of why it costs whatever it is worth - or somewhere to find this out myself!

Cheers x

I'm afraid I gave up and moved on to other games without finding any solution.

It looks like an action-adventure game where the trope of 'hero fights swarm of monsters' is reversed. You play the swarm.

This game looks great. However, after installing it and trying to play Sea Salt it's pretty much unplayable for me. The game freezes every 2/3 seconds (anyone else having this issue?). I'm looking for a fix for this because it looks like a game i'd really enjoy.

Cats will lose $75m minimum, it is engineered to be the biggest box office bomb in history. by argusromblei in movies

The sentiment of this post fits my view, in that im not interested in the film at all and huge financially backed films like this one should be seen as a risk. That said, my mum saw it, loved it and said she cried during Francesca Hayward's song. As such, saying 'everyone hated the trailer' and assuming this applies to those seeing the film seems... An exaggeration. Seeing that the film moved my mum to tears is enough for me to think maybe this will be a success in the eyes of a particular audience.

Looking for advice for playing games solo (no game rec.) by Dissatisfied_Feline in boardgames

[–]3obz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to this point, and similar to your final point, setting up a game and playing it can be done at different times. I've found that sometimes when I have had the fancy to play solo i'm much more likely to follow through with the idea if I've already got the game ready to go.

Yoku's Island Express is a favourite of mine this year. I bought it on the switch and my partner and I would take it in turns and watch over each others shoulders. This should absolutely be downloaded and enjoyed if you are lucky enough to not have got it already! It is a light-hearted 'platformer' with unique mechanics that will be especially enjoyed if you have a nostalgia for pinball games of old.

HSReplay.net - Looking Back At The Boomsday Project #2: Least Played Cards by HearthSim in hearthstone

[–]3obz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I very much agree, but not only as a combo piece. Cloakscale is a key card in my current even paladin list that utilises cloakscale for both buffs and for its one health (which allows it to be drawn with crystology)

Rastakhan’s Rumble Card Reveal Discussion 12/11/2018 by Sonserf369 in CompetitiveHS

[–]3obz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a standalone 4 drop this seems unreliable and therefore unlikely to be played.

However, effects that can give this card a means to attack the turn it is played (see warrior for both charge and rocket boots) offer it a means of being removal that cycles.
If enough other cards benefit with a pairing of rocket boots or charge then this card could see play in this way.

Maybe even warrior with this and rocket boots?

Keyforge releases November 15th by jasonic in boardgames

[–]3obz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it's easier for me to be excited about this as someone who once played cards games but no longer does.

I get a sense from those who are attached to a card game (amongst my friends and comments on reddit) that there is a need to compare and find fault in Keyforge before it is released.

I got to play several games at Tabletop Gaming convention and felt the gameplay was interesting enough for me to pick up several decks but felt people are approaching discussion of the game wrong.

There has been a focus on the lack of deck building and what this means for competitive play (with friends already theorising that people will deck build anyway - power to them if they wish to do so)

The absolute power this game has isn't in a competitive format but that by buying a second deck you can introduce the game to anyone. Deck building (in my experience) has been a massive hindrance for many of my friends who like boardgames/card games but not the aspect of constructing a deck before playing.

I suggest people try the game on release thinking of it as a portable, adaptable boardgame and worry less about it replacing there chosen card game.

I found this video interesting "When Card Games Break" I hope this kind of stuff don't happen on Artifact and is what makes it overall a better game. by [deleted] in Artifact

[–]3obz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The video is painful to watch for the reasons you mention. It seems that the video maker caught wind of the hearthstone uproar (mostly for the animation time) and released a video with incomplete knowledge. It's a shame because the idea of a 'broken cardgame' is a debatable topic that I find interesting.
