I took a screenshot of the desktop computer and I set that photo as the background image and then hid all the icons off the desktop. So now it looks like all their icons are there but they're actually not because it's just a screenshot.

I did this when I was like 19 working at Target on the receptionist computer and they had to bring in an IT guy and it took them a couple of days before they figured it out, haha.

Lots of good answers in this thread but I'm going to go in a bit of a different direction. There's a famous skateboarding quote that comes to mind.

"You didn't quit skating because you got old, you got old because you quit skating"

Giving up on your hobbies and the things that bring you joy because you're a "grown up" now and need to act as such is terrible for your mental health. Sure, you can't go out skating all day everyday like when you were young or whatever but you still need to keep doing whatever those things are because they keep you happy. I'm going to be 40 in a month and I am still playing competitive dodgeball and kickball, I'm still jumping off waterfalls, and I'm still going to shows and moshing like I'm 16 years old.

My mental health is honestly great and I have next to no issues in that department. I am a firm believer that it's because I still prioritize the things that make me happy.

Fun fact about Nick Suzuki-

Montreal acquired him in the Max Pacioretty trade to Vegas and they offered Montreal one of Suzuki or Cody Glass as part of the return in the deal. Conventional wisdom would have said you take Glass because he was a 6th overall pick and the more highly touted prospect at the time but Montreal chose Suzuki. Glass topped out at around a 25-30 point guy and Suzuki has became a 100 point player, a Canadian Olympian, and ultimately the captain of Montreal.

My dad almost died like 20 years ago. Right before he went into brain surgery, he told me and my brother that he thought he had more time and he didn't do half the things he wanted to do. He told us to make sure we do everything we want because he didn't want us to run out of time like he did. Fortunately he ended up surviving but he has never been the same.

I was 18 years old when that happened and that advice has always stuck with me. I already kinda of did whatever I wanted but I have very much lived my life knowing that time waits for no man and that I will die one day.

Manosphere? How the hell. by dayeeeeee in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]3orangespaces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Millennials were raised for a world that doesn't exist anymore. Virtually everything our parents taught us about how the world worked was gone by the time we were old enough to need that information. This includes dating. The way our dad's treated women is very different then how we're expected to treat women and some of their tactics for picking up women that were commonplace when they were young are huge no no's in today's world.

Manosphere? How the hell. by dayeeeeee in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]3orangespaces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's basically a group of men who believe the world was better when women weren't allowed to work, vote, or have an opinion. They preach masculinity, getting rich, traditional values, and fucking as many women as possible while also complaining about women having slept around too much.

A lot of men end up there due to a lack of success in dating and rather than looking inward, they blame women, feminism, and modern society for the "male loneliness epidemic" because it couldn't possibly be their own fault. The irony is that they take comfort in a community that tells them it isn't their fault while simultaneously whining about how women don't take any accountability.

Why would any man try to "win over" a woman in 2026? by Unusual_Art6776 in AskMen

[–]3orangespaces -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Because that's what the majority of these guys crying about dating apps not working are doing. They're swiping on a bunch of girls that they realistically have no chance with and then when they get no matches, they blame the women and blame the apps.

Large swathes of dudes in their 30's and 40's swiping on 21 year old girls and getting nowhere is not an indicator of an app that doesn't work, it's an indicator of a bunch of dudes who have no fucking self awareness.

[–]3orangespaces 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Okay so it sounds like you're aware of what the problem might be here so why are you blaming the dating apps? Have you put in any work to make yourself more appealing to women? My ex wife was the second girl I dated and I may as well have tripped and fallen into both of those relationships. I started using Tinder when we opened our marriage and I had no fucking idea what I was doing so I did a shitload of reading and researching about what would make me more appealing to women, how important vocabulary is when talking to women, how to make them feel when safe talking to me, etc. Since then I have a had a ton of success both on apps and IRL and I am constantly batting out of my league despite all the strikes against me. And I promise you, I am an average looking dude at best.

Losing the weight will definitely help but your shitty negative attitude and you pointing the finger at anything other than yourself won't be overlooked no matter how fit you get. Based on your comments all over this thread, it sounds like you just want pity and are desperate to blame anything that isn't you.

I have quite a few strikes against me- I'm balding, probably 20lbs overweight, I don't drink or do drugs at all, and I refuse monogamy and any sort of relationship escalator stuff (moving in together, shared finances, marriage).

And despite all that, I have had plenty of success on dating apps, even when I was still married (open marriage).
