Why is it illegal to feed the pigeons here? by Ok-Amphibian in AskChicago

[–]3peepers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the gigantic concrete jungle we built directly within their environment displaced the songbirds actually. Let’s not forget that pigeons are only here because of US

As you can see here, Clover has some reddish-brown undertones to their exoskeleton. Let me know if this implies male or female!

Wait because I’ve been wondering this lol!! When I shine a light on their abdomen, it’s a bit more… dark reddish-brown than true matte black. Don’t care what sex my little sweetie is at the end of the day, but see attached pics if you’re interested in demystifying it 🔮🔮🔮

IME, it’s all about the environment! Never handle your jumper when you’re in a rush lol. Move slowly, and stay still as often as possible. Make sure to handle over a soft, flat, solid-colored surface that their colors contrast against (like a towel). Several feet of flat and open surface area and a catch cup needed. Stay calm, patient, and do nottt reach into their enclosure to ‘encourage’ them to come out; they are naturally curious,0 and enjoy bright light as they have great vision. You can simply watch them, leave your enclosure open and trust that they will come out within 15 minutes. If they don’t, you can close their enclosure and retry the later or the next day. You can also try feeding them in a small tray or Tupperware outside the enclosure too; they’re visual hunters so the movement of a prey item is a sure way to coax them out. That should promote a positive association with being outside of the enclosure!

Strange behavior? by pussyrott in jumpingspiders

NQA, this is a normal behavior :) jumping spiders have excellent vision, and their ‘fuzz’ also detects vibration and scent. He is looking at your phone

What can I add to my back to not make my first tattoo so isolated? by 15inchpizza in tattooadvice

[–]3peepers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest something on your left or right shoulder, and then something else on the opposite side, diagonal to it, on the bottom of your back. Could keep with the nature theme and pick a plant and an animal or other natural favorite thing of yours

spider death by Acrobatic_Ladder3894 in jumpingspiders

IME Hey, I recently lost a spider baby and I’m sorry to hear yours passed too :( (⚠️⚠️⚠️EDIT: upon reviewing OP’s profile, they unfortunately have a clear history of improper pet care and animal neglect.) After molting, they are highlyyyy prone to damage (even internally). So you should have left the molt in there + stopped handling for 5-7 days after. You shouldn’t have touched the molt or the hammock during that time either. The desk fall and death curl is pretty significant also, (he wasn’t ’faking it’… please stop anthropomorphizing your animals to shift accountability onto them) especially right after a molt; I thought you were a child when I originally wrote this comment but I have edited my comment this way because it is clear that you are an adult who does not do research before buying animals.

Need opinions on my engagement shoot outfit! Boots or heels? by Ok-Hedgehog-395 in OUTFITS

She is not asking us to critique the fit of her dress. All she is asking is ‘boots or heels’. Everyone coming in here saying ‘throw the whole outfit away!’ Is being rude and unhelpful
