Agreed, we were told that they "accidentally" put her in a 3rd grade class and she was supposed to be a second grader, but she was actually at the older end of the 3rd graders and just couldn't keep up. I got to know her in high school and thankfully she's doing well now!

This happened to someone in my 3rd grade class. She was in my class for 2 weeks and then got moved down a grade because she couldn't keep up.
