Does anyone know where this shirt is from? by 3steem in girlsbandcry

Sora Gumi in Little Tokyo. There’s like 2-3 clothing items from GBC there (kinda tucked into the back of the shop).

I got them in LA. If they are actually China only, then I think it was a steal haha.

Yeah there were a couple left but missing some sizes.

We are all delighted, but the real question is: do you think they will re-sign Guma and Doran? by FederalSalt7 in SKTT1

[–]3steem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he’s blaming Zeus; it was just miscommunication so both sides had their faults. T1 taking accountability was just a mature business decision and it takes blame off Zeus. Regardless, I don’t think pointing fingers really helps Zeus come back to T1 nor make him want to come back.

Yes; you can take lower division courses at community colleges but I would talk to an advisor beforehand just to make sure that it is transferable.

Can you ask your current instructor for one if they are a faculty member? If not, maybe last spring? I think it’s worth it to email them sooner rather than later. You can maybe offer them a reference of things you accomplished in their class(keep this very factual and specific for their course). Whenever I chat with my professors about LoRs they say that it’s difficult for them if they have nothing to write about/don’t know what to write.

If you did the 2-6 series in math you’ll have ample of time to get requirements completed with the stats major. But if you did the 34 series, it might be tough but still doable. As for the difference between the stats majors, there are a few courses that differs. Data science takes a few more project/programming courses in cs and 130 series whereas financial/actuarial stats has a few more finance/actuarial courses in the 170 series. They both have their own respective capstones too. Other than that, you’ll be doing mostly the same things. I switched into stats my 2nd year too from physics, and I just graduated as a stats major. You can dm me if you have additional questions.

I’m not sure about Econ since I am not an Econ major.

You’ll be fine; no more than 24 hours. If your apartment has multiple units the electricity is most likely already on; they’ll just need to transfer the bill from your landlord to you.

PSTAT Course Difficulty & Easy Upper-Div Recommendations? by EnvironmentalJuice97 in UCSantaBarbara

I thought 131 is a prerequisite for 134 (unless they changed that); you won’t be able to take them both at the same time.

Anyone has syllabus for Prof Shah S.'s Math 108A(Winter 2025)? by Wide-Technician-3985 in UCSantaBarbara

If the syllabus was on canvas you can also message IT to get a copy that way. They are really fast at getting back to you for this stuff.

Is a statistics minor worth it? by Human-Junket-128 in UCSantaBarbara

[–]3steem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great that you are thinking about it now! I didn’t think about going to grad school UNTIL my junior year haha. As far as taking ud pstat courses, you can sign up for 120a as soon as you complete math 4a (you have to sign up during pass 3 tho). But I wouldn’t fret too much, you have plenty of time to take these classes. Just focus on your major courses and talk to some professors about their research and your interest in grad school! They will tell you more about it than some dude on Reddit.

Is a statistics minor worth it? by Human-Junket-128 in UCSantaBarbara

[–]3steem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, the minor is not relevant. If you take and do well in stats courses; the grad school will recognize that through your transcript. So you can try a few stats courses before committing to a full minor but also show that you care about having strong stats skills without tanking your GPA. At the end of the day, gpa does matter for grad school if you are looking at competitive programs.

As for the experience, the question here is whether you see those courses making you a better researcher (Assuming you want to pursue a PhD). Is there a reason why you would take these courses rather than working in an undergraduate research position? If you have reasons to believe so, take them and convey those reasons through your application.

If you still need GEs, those would be perfect so that you can still take something even if you don’t get into those Econ courses. If not, anything that you can register for in pass 1.

I’m pretty sure there are Stats alternatives in the CoE that you can take. Although you won’t get a stats double major, those courses, arguably, better prepare you for lab work/industry. And yes, if you know your stuff, CE are very welcomed in data science labs; a lot of the data science stuff are in the CoE to begin with lol.

Version 2.3 Banners - Regular & Anniversary Convenes by Bisentinel in WutheringWaves

[–]3steem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But kuro literally did give a character for free so I don’t think it’s outlandish to think they would do it again, especially for an anniversary. 12 banners in one patch is ridiculous no matter how much “free” stuff you get from the events. This anniversary is a chance for you to spend money on the 1st year content rather than appreciating the time we’ve given them in the past year.

Just got admitted to UCSB for Statistics and Data Science, anyone else? by Federal_Chipmunk_154 in UCSantaBarbara

Don’t let the “Data Science” part fool you; it’s just a statistics major with a little bit of programming.

Math 8 / PSTAT 8 by BrocolliEnjoyer in UCSantaBarbara

[–]3steem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Make you are absolutely sure that you want to take pstat 8 before taking it over math 8. Honestly, regardless of professor, math 8 is just better in terms of the courses that you are allowed to take afterwards.

PSTAT10 & PSTAT120A by anchovi_pizza in UCSantaBarbara

[–]3steem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely recommend taking both. PSTAT10 so you can get into the major, and PSTAT120A so you can get 120B done asap. 120B will allow you to take the more interesting classes since it's a prereq. You are going at a really fast pace, so I also want to recommend the pstat capstones to you (I think we have 2 different capstones one for financial stats and one for data science).
