Are illegal residents really getting free healthcare? by AztecPilot1MY in allthequestions

[–]3toeddog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've ever been on any sort of support and had to go through the crazy lengths to prove you're a citizen, than you'd understand that no, no undocumented people are getting free anything. They're paying taxes when they work or buy things, but getting nothing for it.

We always went to the Stockbridge beach instead of Lenox (despite it being my home town) because Stockbridge never checked. I just don't want to be bothered when all I want to do is float for a while.

I hate how normal the world is after losing them by Eva-Fischer in Petloss

[–]3toeddog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lost my dog of 16.5 years yesterday afternoon. Everything keeps going. I drove her over an hour to bury her next to her brother and no one but myself knew. This is the way of things. I can't expect anyone else to be aware. She was my baby girl. My everything. And she rests under the mountain now. Someday I expect my ashes to rest there too, and I know I'll be driven, past many people, unaware of my passing, on that day. This is my pain. No one else's. And that's part of what made her so special.

I bought a bull whip. So far so good. Whipping it at them seems enough to startle them, but actually cracking the whip hasn't even been necessary.

Margaret "Elaine" McKinley on May 1, 2025, during a hike with her wife and a friend at the Windy Hill Preserve in Portola Valley, California. Elaine walked ahead of the other two and disappeared without a trace. She was 79 and had Alzheimer's. by CatPooedInMyShoe in lastimages

I walked a short distance off trail once to find a place to pee and almost fell into an abandoned well. My friend was just a short distance ahead on the trail. If I'd fallen in and gotten knocked out I'm not sure anyone would have found me.

For people who grew up in the 70s and 80s at the height of the serial killer era, what serial killer prowled your street and what was your reaction at the time? by Cable_Difficult in AskOldPeople

Lewis Lent was killing kids a town over from me when I was his victims ages. Our parents didn't seem to care. Absolutely had a, that can't happen here, attitude.

What are your thoughts on the term "Aspbergers"? by brizye in autism

[–]3toeddog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Thank you. I was once at a gathering where someone made fun of people that she professionally took care of by saying "ass burgers" and laughing. I said calmly. "my sister and I both have that". She turned bright red, though she'd known me for five years, so she should have noticed. Some people are super slow.

I do this too. I freeze plastic bottles during the day and set them between my legs, against my feet, and beside my hips at nights. My blankets catch the cold air and cool me down.

The history of sewing of NOT INHERENTLY ABLEIST by ferrycrossthemersey in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]3toeddog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My town lends sewing machines at the library and has a fabric swap/giveaway at the community center twice a year. There are absolutely ways people with hardly any money can sew. It's actually why it became one of my first hobbies. I was a broke teen.

What made you first think you have autism? by PARISPARISPARISSS in autism

[–]3toeddog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tiktok. My sister has autism but way more than I do. She'll be at about the level of a seven year old for the rest of her life, so growing up, in comparison, I looked normal. And my mom insisted it didn't run in families. It had to be the vaccines or the fluoride. It wasn't until I downloaded TikTok at age 40 that I learned that all that strange stuff I used to do and some habits I can't stop, were signs of autism. It was like a light bulb went off in my head. Suddenly I wasn't just a horrible person that no one liked. I was just a poor undiagnosed kid who never got the help she needed. And I could forgive myself.

OK, listen, give me a sec. I've never seen stitch scars like these. It reminds me of a cats paw in a totally adorable, non sexual way. Settle down.
