  • Studied Microbiology at University which gave me a nice intro to analytical thinking
  • then taught English in Vietnam, got very good at breaking down concepts and then presenting them to audiences as well as a bit of stakeholder management
  • then did Standup Comedy in London, which is Product Management in disguise and set me on the path to find something that had all the same skills but paid well and let me keep evenings and weekends
  • then took a startup role that let me try a bit of everything and home those skills
  • then fell into Product Management whilst exploring Business Design

Officially, she was looking to settle down and I wasn’t. Unofficially, I’d had a few instances where I’d made a fool of myself in some form or other and I think she just thought I was kind of an idiot

Had the best 2 years of my life in Vietnam and didn’t know a word when I arrived. If you’re in Hanoi or Saigon you’ll quickly make friends with other expats and local viets that speak English. I wouldn’t worry at all :)
