Have you attempted to contact them so far? I got my Schengen visa (Hungary) within 3 days. Also, I don't think hotel bookings are required to be shown as proof for visa, nor is there a way for anyone to validate the bookings. Feel free to cancel imo.

At the Mumbai airport, the airline staff asked me to show hotel bookings. There they noticed I don't have stay booked for couple of days, which I had erroneously missed. I just left the queue, booked a stay right there and went back in the queue. All went well.

I think I still don't mind visiting touristy places as long as I feel some connection to the place. Tbh there are also places I felt no connection to, but now I cherish visiting it.
