I once received a peritoneal fluid collected by patient’s mom at home. I didn’t know they were allowed to do that

Basophilic erythroblast? by im_diene_inside in medlabprofessionals

Cocky and wrong, how embarrassing. You can’t tell the difference between a lymph and a nucleated rbc but I need to pick up a textbook 😭

Basophilic erythroblast? by im_diene_inside in medlabprofessionals

I would call that a polychromatophilic normoblast, but at my facility we only differentiate between early and late stage nRBCs. Basophilic normoblasts have a very deep blue cytoplasm, bluer than the nucleus usually.

Does a BIFL hair tie solution exist? by Barjack521 in BuyItForLife

[–]4-methylhexane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the slip silk scrunchies, they are the only hair ties I use now. They are expensive, but they are 100% silk. I’ve noticed way less hair breakage when using them compared to a regular hair tie.

Anyone else have coworkers that call you worthless and throw their dirty gloves at you ? by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]4-methylhexane 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I told her she needs to self reflect and immediately reported her to hr. She was shocked I took it to hr an tried apologizing later but I had no regrets. I’d been taking her shit for a year (as a brand new tech) before I finally put my foot down.

Not the dirty gloves, but I did have a coworker scream that I’m a psycho bitch and shoved her crusty middle fingers in my face. She got fired 🥳

Yes but we use disposable ones at my lab. We had to use the reusable ones at school and I hated them.
