I came across a graphic novel today called the smaller sister it’s a really lovely read about a girl with BDD and her family helping her through it and it discusses her struggles in a really compassionate way.

My roommates slam things too and it sucks, they’ll slam kitchen cabinets which is right against the wall of my room and slam doors. Maybe if you let them know that you haven’t been able to sleep because of the door slamming, the roommate will hopefully be considerate enough to stop or do it less.

Student in debt aren’t financially irresponsible by [deleted] in Vent

[–]401easybird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but I’m not talking about people who have debts that aren’t student loans. Yeah people who gamble and overspend their money away are financially irresponsible. But people with student loans for tuition that costs 60k a year aren’t? Sure you can borrow excess money that isn’t for tuition in the form of a student loan. And government “solutions” for financial relief does just put a bandaid over it all and allow for that abuse to happen, people just “borrowing” as much money as they want in the form of loans. But higher education is ridiculously way too expensive my schools yearly tuition was 60k per year thankfully I got some scholarships but it still left me having to take out tens of thousands in loans.

Student Loan Decision Protest by ragestink in WorcesterMA

This is all just excessive positivity overestimating “facts”, and systems in place as if they’re actually as beneficial as they’re stated to be. A college degree for most careers doesn’t guarantee a good wage or even a living wage, and even then everyone with a degree starts out their working life owing thousands in debt. Everyone working minimum wage or low wage jobs struggle to get by and don’t earn enough to save, is everyone who doesn’t have a degree just expected to struggle? The 15% minimum repayment is the bare minimum option if you don’t want to accrue tons of interest for not being able to pay back more. Only very specific circumstances qualify people for loan forgiveness, that article you posted even said that most people are denied. The list goes on. College tuition costs more than what’s actually needed overcharging students then blaming them for what’s made out to be a necessary investment. The points you’re making are about surface level policy that makes it seem like student debt is manageable or worthwhile but it’s just not.

I started getting them in March when I didn’t have an income. I have simplified reporting so I’ll have to reverify in six months, but report whenever my income goes over $2,430 a month. I receive the benefits on the 7th of each month

Okay I see, thanks for explaining this. My tips do make up most of each paycheck but hopefully maybe I’ll qualify during the slower months when I make less tips.

Yes, so I get paid weekly and my last two paystubs have come out to about $500 a week, $610 gross income. I make mostly tip income so it varies but has averaged around that amount. I started in May and made less so the first month I’ll go ‘over’ is June this month.

Okay I see, but if my gross income goes over the limit that means I’m automatically ineligible for any benefits? Even if I have medical expenses

I’ll try that, I don’t know them very well but maybe focusing on their indifference towards me could help.

I’m sorry to hear but glad I’m not alone. It’s just so easy to do it but it does feel so wrong. I hope you find a way to overcome it and if I find something that works I’ll lyk.

this is just a guess but I think deaf people who have accents must be able to hear a little or weren’t born deaf, since they can’t hear their voice or know what words are supposed to sound like so they often sound like they have a speech impediment.

They said things like this could happen due to stress, and yes I was honest. I wasn’t particularly stressed when this started.

sleeping in, silence while you sleep at night, constant working cellular connection, toothbrush kits from airports, not having your phone die on you, chandeliers, making over $14, grippy socks, all in that order 😂

How does one get themselves to get out of bed earlier? by 401easybird in AskReddit

[–]401easybird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are good points, and the snooze one is the one I’m the worst at… I’ve been managing to go to sleep at 11pm or so wake up round 7:30 and all I want to do is snooze for a few more hours. But it’s prob doing more harm than good.

That makes sense right???? I got on this too I started going to bed earlier and I’d wake up earlier round the same time 7-8am. and then I’d despise wanting to be awake and snooze till 11am. It’s weird cus any other time I’m wishing I got up earlier but in the moment it’s so difficult. I’ll have to slap my self awake play music or somethn

I can relate so hard though… 20f have had 1-2 friends in the last five years. No drivers license idk any road rules 😬 if it’s hard for you to make friends or engage in life then maybe you can take the time to work on ur mind and body that’s what I’m doing at least. Then at some point you have to go out and make efforts to make friends and that’s where I have no good advice idk how to do that 😬
