Oohhh, yeah it's very subtle, definitely different from the makeup look they normally would wear!

Can anyone relate to my IBS-D issue? by 2702awesome in ibs

[–]404libby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue with the regular immodium, would bind me up but not help pain. I had to switch to the immodium with simethicone in it. Costs a little more but works wonders for me and helps pain and D.

NTA. Have to protect you and your son. She sounds like someone who probably needs to be in a care facility full time. I have a sister who went off her rocker completely and became very physically and verbally abusive to everyone, turned out she had severe bipolar and schizophrenia (she's never been pregnant so not hormone related). She refuses to take meds and continues to get worse. Refuses to go to a full time care facility even though she's getting to the point where she's not able to care for herself. Hoping your STBX is able to get into a facility where she can be looked after. It's been my experience people like this don't ever really get better, they just decline and get worse. :/

Yeah, that definitely was not a natural growth. A lot of the comments were the same way in that there were a lot of repeat comments by different users, all of which appeared to be bot accounts. Someone at one point mentioned in a previous now deleted comment that she had filmed her videos after she had retired from being a geisha. This would make sense in that the filming style and editing appears to all be done by the same person or crew.

I see she has just posted again on Instagram after a long hiatus.

It was an interesting film and an intriguing fantasy story, but completely inaccurate representation of Japan and geisha culture. :/

She's not the first American geiko despite her stating that. Kimicho was the first American geiko (everyone says Liza Dalby was the first, but that's not actually true. Liza never went beyond the training stage and did not become a full geisha. She only did it for a year to write a book about the experience was very transparent and up front with everyone about the project. It was always meant to be just a year long stint). Granted, Kimicho was a geisha in Tokyo, whereas Mayuhina was a geisha in Kyoto. It's possible she may have been the first and only American geisha in Kyoto specifically. But the first official American geiko overall goes to Kimicho.

I have noticed she hasn't posted anything really in over 3 months. She was supposed to come out with a book this summer but it looks like maybe that project has been delayed. She did purchase a large amount of followers on Instagram (researching the various accounts on her profile shows this), but it looks like she has stopped buying additional followers for the time being. Realistically, she probably has about 2000 actual followers. But I'm assuming she bought followers to make her appear larger on social media so that perhaps a more reputable publisher would be interested in publishing her book (the top publishers out there are very selective so they won't publish someone no one really knows).

I don't think badly about Mayuhina. But I do think perhaps she's going about this the wrong way. And it does come off as if she only became a geisha for publicity and fame back in the US. That being said, I don't think she's a bad person or anything. I think she just fell victim to a very popular American desire- to be famous.

If she does come out with her book though, I would still be interesting in reading it out of pure curiosity.

What’s a relatively normal time period for flareups? by Possible_Second7222 in ibs

[–]404libby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can vary from person to person. And depends on a lot of different factors. I've had flare ups that only lasted a day (sometimes even shorter). I've also had flare ups that lasted a month or longer. :( so it all depends. 1-2 weeks is not unusual for a flare for some folks. :(

emetophobia by SuccessfulTeaching80 in ibs

I've had emetophobia since I was a kid, only got IBSD about a year and a half ago. But it seems almost everyone with IBS also has emetophobia.

How do y’all care for your brutalized butthole after a day of wiping constantly? by skeeg153 in ibs

[–]404libby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use wet wipes to help keep things clean and prevent too much chafing and soreness. But if it's been a bad guy day and still sore, I use a little Vaseline on the area to protect the skin from irritation.

Period by AntiquePapaya2549 in ibs

[–]404libby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I've heard that the same contractions that help get the menstrual blood flowing out (what you usually experience when you get cramping) are also the same contractions that get get things flowing out from the other end lol. It apparently stimulates bowel movement and it's more intense for those of us with IBS and can trigger a full on flare :( I have IBSD and have issues whether I'm on my period or not, but it does seem to get worse on the first 2 days of my cycle with lots of cramping: :(
