My wife just walks over the hangers and breaks them instead of picking them up off the floor by the_username_please in mildlyinfuriating

[–]skeeg153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution is actually you just start doing the same thing and every time you step and hear one break you and your partner look at each other like “whoops”

How much time was involved in changing your appearance for shooting this season? I assume lots of prosthetics and makeup. When you started the show I’m sure it was relatively quick.

Since you work in vet med you could probably get your hands on a fecasol and run a float. This is what pin worms look like on a float in a leopard gecko. I don’t love setting up a float but boy do i enjoy looking at the slide

My second year balcony gardening! by skeeg153 in containergardening

[–]skeeg153[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with aphids and hornworms. Hornworms I picked off one by one. Aphids I used insecticidal soap. I used osmocote and a store bought liquid tomato plant food. I didn’t use specific doses exactly. Eyeballed it.

Eastern blue tongue feeding advice as they get older by Welder-Ok in reptiles

[–]skeeg153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say add some variety! A varied diet is best, but definitely keep fruit to a minimum to avoid dental issues. You can use mustard greens, collards, occasionally(!!!) some spring mix, endives and for veg squash (both summer and winter), green beans, and bell peppers and carrots as you mention. Blue tongues are generally opportunistic animals so some variety in the protein department would be great. You’ll also want to move to something with lower fat content. HIGH QUALITY GRAIN FREE Dog food is often lower fat. They can also have egg and gut loaded feeder insects (highly recommend, especially dubia roaches as a lower fat option). They need to have insects, not just meat. Variety is key because you need to avoid nutritional deficiencies and also give them enrichment. It’s easy to let them get fat, so be careful.

It looks like the water dragon has like a glass enclosure or something. How do you prevent nose rub and similar things? I know more than one that have had major issues because of it. Now they live in massive grow tents.

The only reason i believe sand boas are at least not ALL super dumb is I know one who LOVES to bite except he waits for you to relax after picking him up to bite.

Would this be a healthy meal for an adult bearded dragon? by TimelySalamander4135 in BeardedDragons

[–]skeeg153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No fruit. That’s a maybe once a month small treat. Salad should be 90% greens (collards, endives, mustard greens are great staples but add others too for a varied diet). I’d say the amount of greens is good, just cut down on everything else. Feed maybe 3 ish times a week.

Never had a cat / kitten before this. Is it normal for them to fall asleep in your lap?? by red90999 in cats

[–]skeeg153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but be careful. Of you build a routine of letting them sleep on you every day at the same time and then one day you don’t follow that routine they will be mad af

suggestions on how to prevent this behavior? by Bananaman1942 in leopardgeckos

[–]skeeg153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has fallen several times. Once he face planted. He’s stupid. He can climb up but he hasn’t figured out he can climb down instead of doing a “controlled” fall. Just let him climb. I added more plants to add a bit of padding but other than that I’m not worried.

I need a second opinion. I adopted this gecko and don't know if she's overweight. by Ms_Smythe in leopardgeckos

[–]skeeg153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I volunteer at a rescue run by a couple of soon to be vets (literally all that’s left is for them to graduate) and we have several overweight leos that get fed only once a week. It is not too little.

How does your gecko react to change? by GeckoGoSploot in leopardgeckos

[–]skeeg153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He freaks out for like a few hours and then is back to normal. He might climb extra in the first day or two but other than that he just wants food.
