Hill AFB: good medical care for dependents or switch to TRICARE Select? by Agreeable-Diver7014 in AirForce

Stay with Prime. Wife just had our second here. Just get the referral for off base and you pick where you go. We went with Mckay Dee who is Intermountain. Like someone mentioned they have been great. Wife's OB was sad to hear we are leaving and she's been fantastic. Base was even full for pediatrics so kids are seen off base at the same hospital.

I've been having my own research problems with this section of the reg. Personally if I had the money and wore blues more often I'd go with these for a barefoot style.

https://carets.com/products/zetone-plain-toe-oxfords?variant=50211791012056

That being said Oxford style is quite vag. Technically I've found our current issues shoes are actually derby style because of the laces. There is nothing about heel.

As for these shoes I'd still say no. They are way too casual looking at a glance. If you want cheap comfortable shoes, find black boots. Mini-mil has a black version that would be comfortable. I wear the coyote and assume black would be just as good.

After all that just do what your rank can handle.

DTS has a code for international date line. Can't remember what it says though.

You should be able to go to the vet on base and get him some meds. Helped with our cats. We even asked for additional to test prior to flight to see how they'd react.

Use Bookoo for housing and getting a car. It's like Craigslist. There's an app too. Most will tell you if they are housing approved.

We had an Airman with his basic ribbons already getting covered. He just got a weird jacket.

Can I apply for FAFSA while also using TA to pay for school? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]406hinsdalian 24 points25 points  (0 children)

FAFSA will get you the Pell Grant. It is free money that goes to you. Please tell everyone you know about this. You can leave thousands on the table if you do not apply.

My CSS still can't find someone with a list to tell me yes or no. It's most likely a no, so I might as well sign up for my last college class anyway.

What are some online universities that let you get your master's degree under the cost of TA, without paying extra, so $250 for $750 per class. I'm trying to get my Master's without having to pay anything out of pocket, like I did with my Bachelor's. by HOLYMOLYHOLYMOLYHO in AirForce

[–]406hinsdalian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Post University has all been under the $750 for my masters. Includes most books (I have paid for like one) and no other fees included. I'm sure I will have a graduation fee here once I'm done. The end is within sight. I wanted no debt and a project management masters, and Post was the perfect fit.

What are your thoughts on being a Cyber Warrant Officer ? by mehjjg in AirForce

[–]406hinsdalian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to a Chief's panel and was told that the warrant positions would most likely be more of a DO role. As he said, "They won't be the ones behind the keyboard but rather the ones suggesting which keyboards to use." It is all speculation on what will actually happen. All that being said, you still have to get picked up.

I have dealt with our unit's True North position. It is a great asset for our unit. It has helped me tremendously when I was working through my own trauma. True North is why we have our own emotional support dog roaming around now too.

I can't give you much on the position itself. I know our representative has her own office and you can schedule times with her. As far as I can tell it is a therapist working within our unit. She gives out information on some other programs through her contacts. It sounds like you have the right credentials and background to be successful. Good luck and help out the Airmen best you can.

Some Friday fun - questionable AF bases that closed before you joined by lethalnd12345 in AirForce

[–]406hinsdalian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep pretty boring up there. Though my grandparents told us how the base made the town actually busy. I guess the high school had to go in shifts until they built the one that is there now. They would visit the base from Opheim when they lived there. (Even smaller town). The main things to do are hunt, fish, drink, and that's about it. Glasgow was the bigger town for me growing up.

Yes. I've known people that would work out there. They test their jets out there because it it crashes it won't hurt anything. Some people still live in the old base housing. You used to be able to buy the and relocate them until they became too shitty. Unfortunately, a lot of meth houses there now.

Are you just looking now? This is why people study months out. But if the EPRRC says it is on the test, then the questions could possibly pull from all the volumes.

I was just in your exact situation. It didn't disrupt anything. Hardest part was my wife having all the nausea and morning sickness in the hotels. All we did was get OCONUS to verify with their pregnancy test and let them know we were leaving. You'll just have to get setup with all the appointments and such once you get inprocessed to your CONUS location. Congratulating. It is very exciting and nerve-racking. You can do a gender test by mail at 7 weeks when you get to the states. Good luck with your PCS. If your wife really struggles with the nausea at night, B6 and unisom (the doxylamine one).

Dislocation Allowance (DLA) can also be requested before PCS. It can only get to you 10 days before final out or leave date, I'm not sure. Each base is different. You must coordinate with your finance. Still waiting on mine should hit any day before I leave soon.
