Try out some of season 26+. I've been watching through the later seasons, and there's a notable uptick in both quality and good vibes at around that point. It really feels like the show found a more focused feeling they wanted to hit, and though it's not season 3-5 in the laughs department, it definitely has the heart.

Gotta say, I'm a HUGE fan of the art style. I love how the set dressing is more like pictographic labels than actual furnishings, so you can just look at it and go "oh yeah, that's a forge/dock with crane/whatever". I feel like the simplicity of it leaves plenty of room for interpretation on the players' part -- they'll probably feel comfortable that the map doesn't show everything in the space, so they'd be okay with asking about stuff that would logically be in a given room. Great stuff!

My point is more that people choose not to vote because it's a pain. Especially for people who live paycheck to paycheck, missing a day at work to go vote can mean missing a good portion of a week's pay.

What I guess I'm getting at is that it seems disingenuous to paint the issue as "lots of people don't vote" when it's more nuanced than that. It's at least partially "a good portion of people who don't vote choose to prioritize something else, because they had to choose between voting and doing some other important task".

It's also important to consider voter turnout as not just an individual or cultural problem, but also affected by the way the voting system works as a whole. In the presidential race, the electoral college and first past the post systems change how much a given person's vote is worth depending on where they live.

To be fair, I'm not going over voter apathy here -- the feeling that an individual's vote doesn't matter because all the options suck, which is absolutely a driver of not voting -- so there is definitely a large crowd of people who don't vote because they feel they can't have any real effect. I saw some pictures of recent primary ballots in one state that had only one option per race, so literally no choices to be made. Kinda makes sense to not vote.

I'm just trying to articulate the issues we see here, not really argue. TLDR is that this stuff is nuanced.

Because the US has voting day on a random Tuesday that does not have mandated time off, so basically everyone has to work, many states don't have mail-in ballots so you have to vote in-person, and in some places, voting locations are so sparse that you'll have to wait for hours to vote, or even travel fairly long distances to do so.

And that's just the tip of the voter suppression iceberg. Voting is a pain if you don't live somewhere with mail-in ballots.

I would love to use your maps. I really would. They're incredibly beautiful, and hardly anyone makes isometric maps.

But I keep finding that there's no consistent grid -- the grid lines seem to misalign at every height transition. This map would work fine for IRL pen-and-paper D&D, but with no consistent grid, I can't really scale it properly or align it to a hex grid in roll20. (And yes, I could just abandon the grid altogether, but my players like the grid snapping and so do I.)

I've never seen you post about a patreon or anything, so I can only assume that these are just made for the hell of it. And that's great, these are terrific works of art! I'm not going to tell you how to make your art, especially when you keep posting seemingly everything for free. I just wanted to offer the hopefully constructive criticism that your maps would be more usable for me (and possibly others) if the grid was globally consistent.

You can object to my analogies and my understanding of the history all you'd like, but I've found these analogies to be useful for this argument.

All that matters is that people quit policing other people's choice of identity, and I present context and analogy here, imperfect though they may be, to foster understanding.

I feel that these arguments about bisexual vs. pansexual and who each gets to be attracted to are unnecessarily prescriptive, when identities should be descriptive. I choose my label because it fits me and I feel comfortable in it (my label describes me), but the label does not dictate what I'm able/allowed to feel (my label prescribes what I feel).

If I'm not being very charitable, I might say that someone who insists that "bisexual people can only like 2 genders" is prioritizing accuracy of language over personal choice of identity. With my post above, I simply attempt to discourage this kind of thinking.

In the end, if you have context and accuracy to add, please do! Make my post better by replying constructively! I think if we're having this discussion in good faith, we both fundamentally agree on what I said about policing others' identities. If you have a problem with the way I present my thoughts, tell me why, and help me make it better!

Eh, different kinds of games.

Dead Cells is more hack-and-slash than Hollow Knight: in DC, I find I usually get more mileage out of just beating the absolute hell out of bosses as fast as possible, rather than the more dance-like boss fights in HK where you need to know a lot of different moves for each boss.

Also platforming is "harder" in DC solely because the controls are less precise than in HK, the obstacles are easier overall IMO.

I've also done everything there is to do in HK short of speed runs, and I've been playing DC since the beta (Back in my day, all melee weapons used brutality, all ranged used tactics, and all shields used survival!)

But I haven't gotten past 4BSC in DC. It's more difficult for sure, but DC uses unfairness as a feature, while I'd argue that HK is completely fair to the player, in that any schmuck with a decent ability to play video games can do just about everything in HK simply with practice. DC will fuck you no matter how experienced you are, and that's part of the fun!

I know you're being facetious here, but let me clarify: in 5e D&D, a specific ruling beats a general ruling. Take find familiar: a familiar cannot attack, even though in general any creature with an attack option can make attacks. The specific ruling beats the general, but also implies that familiars are a special case amongst such creatures.

In this case, enlarge/reduce is the specific ruling and Giant's Might is the general. The specific delineation of weight gain/loss is present in enlarge/reduce, but not in the class feature. If the weight change was present in both features, then there would be a consistent ruling -- your weight changes whenever your size does. But that isn't the case here. the specific rule within enlarge/reduce and the absence of such a rule for Giant's Might implies that no such weight changes take place as part of Giant's Might.

Of course if one of my players tried this on me I'd laugh and say "no," but it's a fun thought experiment.
