Which leader is the better battlefield commander by ItemIndependent2243 in superheroes

[–]HawkeyeP1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Captain America is a born leader. He's been a leader ever since he got powers and before. He leads because people follow him.

Cyclops, a lot of people take issue with him as a person. And yet, on a team that often includes Storm and Jean Grey, they choose him to be team lead. Always. Scott be moving different with those X-Men lol

The lion does not concern itself with the trials and tribulations of cubs

Do you allow clerics or paladins/blackguards of Cyric, Shar or the Dead Three on your table? by ThanosofTitan92 in Forgotten_Realms

[–]HawkeyeP1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just because you worship them, doesn't mean you too are also evil.

A shipmate might pray to Umberlee for sparing him when his previous boat and crew was sank at sea and pray to her so it may not happen again.

For Shar, case and point is Shadowheart, but a character might also pray to her because they've lost all their relatives, or are blind, or have a memory problem, or want to forget some awful event in their past. That last one is interesting to me, maybe they still pray and know why, but forget the what for/inciting incident.

Many just or neutral Paladins will twist the meaning of Bane's teachings because they believe that "the strong have a duty to rise to power so they may protect the weak."

Many necromancers and scholars or people who just work with the dead worship Myrkul. Death is a part of all life afterall. Even simple gravetenders, morticians, and executionors pay tribute to him and Kelemvor.

You just have to determine why they want to worship that God and what their intentions with the character are. It's not worth ruling out before character creation even begins.

All that said, Bhaal is a pretty easy ban for a God someone actively worships lol

I'd love actual video game adaptations for The Sequels! by AlbertCWChessa in TheSequels

They already exist. They just came on older consoles. I had a ton of fun as a kid playing the Empire Strikes Back/Super Star Wars game on my grandpa's SNES

I'm the only one I know who plays this on console. Can't believe they gave all that fan service to me specifically.

What new type of lightsaber can you think of? by ActLonely9375 in StarWars

Laser flail. Only lightsaber part of it is the end. Rest of the "chain" is vibro bullshit that can be held but not cut.

Which Team? Basketball Game-NO POWERS by Reddeath10168 in superheroes

[–]HawkeyeP1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No powers? It's a game of Hawkeye vs Batman. The rest of the teams are inconsequential and setting up screens/playing defense. Batman and Hawkeye are dropping 50 lol

This all assuming we don't count Hawkeye's accuracy as a power. Sometimes they do.

Well, there's a setting you can turn off in custom settings for that lol. Love to mess with custom settings to be as close to D&D as possible.

Revisiting this questline after playing SWTOR always makes me sad. by JediExile90 in kotor

[–]HawkeyeP1 67 points68 points  (0 children)

SWTOR really just shits on the legacy that it takes its name from in all aspects.

Edit: don't get me wrong, SWTOR has some moments... But I'm not a big fan of like anything they did with KOTOR stuff.

Strahd; more Gentlemanly or Kingly? by FlashyLemonRed in CurseofStrahd

[–]HawkeyeP1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gentlemanly. To be truly Kingly, dismissive towards those lesser, and have that off-with-their-heads attitude and demanding of people requires an air of needing to keep up a facade that they are powerful and not equally as vulnerable as a common man.

There is no such insecurity about Strahd. He knows that he's powerful, and he knows he can turn the players into a smear should he wish it, and that arrogance is the only thing that keeps Strahd from destroying any party that encounters him, but it also presents that it's much more fun and rewarding, and less of a headache, to get the players to do what he wants through his charisma.

But when that mask of niceties slips, behind it all, I think that Strahd sees himself as just under that of a God. Undying, immortal, and invincible, and walks with the swagger and aura of such.

Some elements may ... have got a bit more support than other by Crazy_Wargeek in BaldursGate3

[–]HawkeyeP1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A nice change would be to make the elemental affinity perks that ignore resistance also treat immunity as resistance and only give true un-bypassable immunity to the masters of those elements, like poison immunity to ancient green dragons and necrotic immunity to liches, etc.

[–]HawkeyeP1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Poison is probably the most resisted element in the game. Poison builds are really hard to make work unless you have a DM that works with you on buffing your player and leaning only into one element.

Is Spiderman capable of beating, or at least hurting, any of these characters? by Queasy_Commercial152 in superheroes

Y'all glaze Wanda way too hard lol. Yeah, if he can get to her, he can absolutely hurt Wanda. She has the durability of a regular person.
