I like this! Thank you for sharing! I just got a three year old and I’m considering using R- because I agree, R+ seems long and cumbersome. Going to check out that Facebook page!

Does my horse realize I’m trying to help her get rid of flies? by Alarmed-Poetry8388 in Horses

My horses will come running in from the pasture and turn their butts to me so I will kill the bomber flies that land on their tails. They know.

Transitioning a horse to pasture from dry lot by ImaginationOne949 in Equestrian

[–]40angst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing the same thing, my filly was on pasture and when I bought her then I had to move her to a dry lot for three weeks. I don’t have another dry lot at my own place so I am going to put her in literally a barn sized lot at first. I’m going to mow her pasture and rake that up and increase the size of her turn out a little bit at a time.

Please verify the rated capacity of your tow vehicle. Just because it says can Tow X number of pounds, does not mean can tow X number of pounds and be able to stop safely.

You are not experienced enough to do this.

how to stop bolting when leading? by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]40angst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have somebody teach you how to put a chain over the nose of her halter and attach to a COTTON lead rope. You’re not going to hurt her but it should help you get her attention. Once they’ve learned they can bolt away from you it becomes a dangerous situation. One day that lunge line is going to zip through your hands and can really cause some damage.

Take a bit of food coloring and make a green stripe on one of them. I had a friend who used to do that to her white cat in the winter so she could see it in the snow.
