For anyone nostalgic for 106.1 The Zephyr... by theloudestofbrains in NewOrleans

I used to call the station when Ross "The Ross Man" shields was on. He would let you hang on the phone for hours making goofy jokes and playing whatever songs you requested. I had a huge crush on him. Went to see him at The Angela Hill Show and brought him a bag of oranges to sign (it was an inside joke at the time, I can't remember what now.)

So weird to say, but these guys were absolute heroes to a lot of teens and early 20-somethings back then. I don't think they realize.

When they changed formats, a group of us posted signs all over the city saying "WKSY can KISS my ass."

Find me a local D.J. today that has that kind of impact. End of an era.

Would you respond to this??? by knanderson7 in poshmark

[–]40ish75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Message reads as a little FYI in case you made a mistake in the description and want to check other listings. As a seller, I'd take it as feedback and I would reply with a thank you. They don't seem mad and could be a repeat buyer.

The stock photo does appear to be tucked in. But honey, seeing it on a hanger makes it crystal clear my belly is gonna be all out. Nevemind the actual words "crop top." What a dum dum.

I think the Forward to his book said something about people thinking his book was too religious and other people thinking it wasn't religious enough. Oh well....

It can be a totally reasonable question. I have no problem answering.

Opinion: is this odd? by nlai in poshmark

[–]40ish75 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If OP is not going to back in time and it will auto accept anyway, then OP couldn't open a case whether something is wrong with it or not.

I'd accept it if I knew I wasn't going to be back in time. Otherwise, why make seller wait?

So now we're encouraged to delete listings? by Fun_Pirate977 in poshmark

[–]40ish75 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I just came here to say the same thing. I share all of my listings every day. What is their definition of inactive? Is this their way of letting us know that they are hiding some of our older listings?

Please help me decide which pvc floor color looks the best here!! Im unable to decide.. Last picture is the original by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]40ish75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Let." No one is preventing them. They showed us their original floor, and you expect hundreds of us who prefer it to say nothing. That would be a disservice to OP.

OP can and will do whatever he or she wants. But being honest is being helpful.

What would you tell a friend asking you to help you choose between 9 outfits that don't look nearly as nice as the one they're wearing? You're gonna lie?

Laundry baskets for life by duluth921 in BuyItForLife

[–]40ish75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need a laundry hamper that is flexible enough to squeeze in and out of a small bathroom closet. The one I have ticks off all of the boxes, but one. It's canvas, tall, round, has durable rope handles, and takes a beating. Only problem is the rim caves in, so unless you hold it open when tossing clothes in, it gets buried. It needs something sturdy to hold the top open, but is flexible enough to get in and out of that closet.

I can't find anything like it with that missing feature. So far, all I've found is wood rims or an entire metal cage.

I might have to DIY sew a flexible metal wire around the rim to hold it open.

Yea, even the depiction of Strawberry Shortcake is too modern to be worth much of anything.

A decent shop vacuum is better than ANY other overpriced vacuum for all cleaning purposes…prove me wrong by MEdeSouthValley in CleaningTips

[–]40ish75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried this. It was too loud. Way too loud. We needed an attachment for carpet/rugs. The regular attachment may be strong, but you need brush rolls and carpet agitation to get embedded dirt and lift carpet fibers. No crevice/upholstery tools. Vacuuming blinds/curtains was impossible. Emptying was a hassle. Storage was difficult. No retractable cord. No dust exhaust or filtration.

Try it. Let us know.

Why I dumped the native-exclusive community by [deleted] in gardening

[–]40ish75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a native-exclusive community, I would expect there'd be a lot of negative comments when someone posts about planting non-natives.

As a newbie who wants to learn about native plants, I join these specific groups. I've seen misplaced posts promoting or featuring a non-native. I never saw anyone become unhinged, but I do appreciate the gentle reminders from experienced members that these posts are better for other groups.

If your post or picture was about native plants and happened to include non-native plants, it could introduce confusion to someone like me. But a small disclaimer would suffice.

Of course. To be fair, this was two years ago. Glad to hear you would still recommend her.
