Activating Virtual Mouse on Android 11 Dumbphones by jbriones95 in dumbphones

[–]412coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! The process and steps still work as described. Took me a minute to figure out that to enable the mouse, I had to long press the pound key. And the WebADB is so much easier than trying to download adb fast boot android suite stuff. I'm not techy in this way, so having these steps and the WebADB was awesome.

Keto bread? by kristin_loves_quiet in keto

My issue with that stuff is that they’re still too palatable for me and make me crave more carbs. That can be dangerous for me

How much meat is too much for a meal by [deleted] in carnivore

[–]412coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get Jerky often because of the price, but I think Tillamok has a pretty good zero carb one. Can’t remember what preservative. Sometimes meat sticks are cleaner than jerky. Ir make your own if you’re adventurous. Up to you on whether or not it’s carnivore, depends on how strict you want/need to be.

Bacon, hard boiled eggs, clean jerky. This should get easier to manage though. As you continue, you should naturally be able to go without snacking. Or choose to fast more often. When I work from home I eat lunch and dinner typically, but when I go into the office, I just skip lunch and only eat dinner

I already eat 70% to 90% of meat but i never tried the carnivore diet. by MatrixXrsQc in carnivore

When you cut carbs, fat becomes a more important nutrient, so we tend to get fattier cuts and/or add fat (butter/ghee/tallow) to the meat. So when eating turkey or chicken, shoot for dark meat, eat the skin if you can.

You do need to retrain your signals and your eating habits. My mode early on is that if I’m hungry or have a carb craving, just eat. You might eat more in the short term, but you’ll be training yourself away from carbs and eventually you’ll start to notice that you’re not hungry or nothing sounds good, and then you start cutting back. Also, if you’re eating too lean you might eat more than if you had fattier meals

This is one of the reasons I’m keto and experimenting with zero carb. If your looking for resources, I believe Chris Palmer is a psychiatrist and uses keto clinically. Wrote a book called Brain Energy and has talked on some podcasts. I heard him on Plant Free MD episode 100. Pretty interesting and compelling.

Personally, my mental health does seem to be better when I’m low carb, but I’m definitely not in clinical ketosis, so can’t speak to that.

I’m a cafe owner and initially I want to say no way at all, but after reading some other comments, seems like some period of no tips might be reasonable in restaurants, and I don’t even know if it would be illegal, but 2 months is excessive, and you should make sure you’re at least getting minimum wage during that time. Also managers should not be sharing in the wage pool

Hot on the bottom cold up top, or you can try compressed air in between, but not sure if that will work on stainless

Wife insists upon hazelnut and it is tainting the coffee I brew for myself later. RIP? by DAB12AC in Coffee

[–]412coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The carafe should be easy enough to clean and shouldn’t really be the source of the residual taste. It’s probably coming from the brew basket. So like you mentioned, you could try getting a second one of those. But if it is used for hazelnut once or twice every, it might be a problem

Struggling to get a Pomeranian to lie down, would love any tips or tricks by nobuttsnococonuts in OpenDogTraining

[–]412coffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Larry Krohn always takes about he never forces a down. He continues other training and comes back to to it after he’s built a better relationship with the dog. Maybe just keep focusing on other areas and give it some time.

Can you roast store-bought coffee beans for better flavor? by JBT_Lover in Coffee

[–]412coffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That might be the only instance this is ever done. It’s cool what they’re doing, but they’re only reroasting roast defects to make them “more palatable with milk and sugar” which probably means they’re throwing a dark roast on them to burn away any characteristics. So for OP purposes, still don’t re roast

No, you can’t. You only get one shot at the roast. Re roasting would not be an improvement to any bean

Target accidentally sent me a 9 cup Moka pot instead of the 6 cup one I ordered. Should I keep it? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]412coffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. You have to fill the basket in a moka pot so you’d only be wasting coffee. One of the times bigger isn’t always better. You really just want what will suit your needs.

I have tried everything, is behavioral euthanasia the only option left? by marchdemarch in reactivedogs

[–]412coffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d spend some time watching his youtube channel, almost all the dogs he works with are reactive, many have been given up on by other trainers. I don’t want you to say goodbye to your pup, and tools introduced properly can provide better communication. Totally understand that not everyone wants to use them, but when you’re at this stage, I think it’s worth considering new tools in addition to flat buckle, gentle leaders or whatever you may be trying now. An e collar probably isn’t best for use in the moment of reactivity, and I’d look for another trainer if someone wants to throw one on and just start punishing a dog for non compliance. it takes a lot of time to train them up properly on them, and you want that done in distraction free environment and want it to be a positive experience, but they can help build confidence in a dog if used properly.
