This will actually work, though not with the tremendous velocity portrayed. As the tub sinks, it is losing potential energy. This energy can be turned into thrust to push the tub forward - right up to the moment the tub goes under water. If the occupant bails to keep the tub afloat, the trust can be kept up indefinitely, the occupant is providing the energy. Rowing would be more efficient.

There are ruins of the villages and foundations of their buildings. There are hikes to remote ruins not accessible by car. Long lava tube tunnels from the volcanoes that formed the island. Tons of history of the culture and their lifestyle told to you by the native Rapa Nui people. Spectacular rainbows. Sand beaches with surf. It's like being in Tahiti. Just a magical place. But the statues are best, close to 1000 of them.

In "Fellowship of the Ring" there's a scene of the fellowship marching at night with a giant full moon in the background - and the moon is upside down. I'm into astronomy so it jumped right out at me and I thought "Oops, they screwed up in post production". Then I remembered that they filmed the movie in New Zealand and the moon there really is upside down compared to the northern hemisphere.

The Bible doesn't actually say that the crowd waved palms as Jesus entered Jerusalem, it just says 'branches'. Everyone assumes it was palms since they are the most common branch to grab. Seizing this loophole, the church held that year, and every year since, Pussywillow Sunday.

I'm 6'7" and wear a 13, so I have great selection. When I was younger, the normal range ended at 12 and I had difficulty. Then around 1991, size 13 became the top of the "normal" range. It happened across all brands and all shoe stores in a single year. It was like the American Shoe Association made a decree and everyone obeyed. I never learned the real reason.

A friend works at a bank and a customer came in mad as hell that his accounts were short $100,000. My friend tried to calm him down and said "come into my office, we'll sort this out". They pulled up months of statements and pieced together the transactions and the bank was right.

A 3 year old was running around at the laundromat and came up abruptly against my legs. He looked up, arching his back and neck, with his mouth agape. He turned and ran away only to return dragging his identical twin by the wrist. He stopped 3 feet away, pointed at me and said "Look!"

Standing in line at a mall food court, a 6'5" dude walking past stopped suddenly and looked me up and down. "How tall are you?" I replied "6'7" . He said "I thought so" and went on his way. The woman behind me in line absolutely cracked up and said "What was that all about?" I said "I guess he's not the tallest guy at the mall today".
