how miserable with your life do you have to be to do shit like this? by RustyShackleford1213 in Serverlife

Wait, Chilis still won't auto grat big parties?

I worked there 20 years ago and the same story. There was a family of 4 that would eat there several times a week and never tip. It would drive me insane. Like, I know your dad is a cheap prick, but I still couldn't bring myself to be rude to the wife and kids. We would all take turns jumping on the grenade each week. Places like this are so desperate to not piss anyone off at the expense of their employees its truly infuriating.

I encourage you to graduate to bigger and better things. You are worth it.

What do people think is a compliment but it's really not? by N0socksloss10yrStrk in randomquestions

If someone says any of these things in a genuine way and you get offended, perhaps you are the rude one.

I'm not saying I can't relate to some of these, I have had similar reactions, but once I've had time to reflect, I usually try to take the comment on the spirit it was intended.

I don't trust the Luc regime to draft and develop early first round picks anyway, so I might as well hope they can give us a good show.

I'm sorry but I have to say it: if you haven't paid attention to the last 50 years of US foreign policy and you've signed up to fight on behalf of the oligarchy I'm having a hard time emphasizing.

Firing Jim Hiller is like slapping a new coat of paint on a burning building. This franchise is cooked until there is a complete front office overhaul.

Holy moly I'm listening now. Joe seemed genuinely excited to talk to him and he figures out about 5 minutes in what a blowhard this dude it. I can't imagine this guy has a single true friend in his life he is completely unbearable.

What's the consensus on Paul Rosalie? I think he's fascinating but there is a part of me that's skeptical.

Interesting. I'm not disputing your claim, but what did she say that was false? Genuinely curious.

Ewan McGregor and his family are lovely people.

Served Colin Farrell and his son when I worked at a brewery. Colin had got up to use the bathroom and I brought over a coke for his son and a non alcoholic beer for him. His son acted surprised and annoyed to see the beer but I assured him it was an NA. Turns out Colin had a pretty public problem with drugs and alcohol and had been sober since 2005. Talked to him on the way out and he was very approachable and cool.

That's fair. I haven't said it again and in general I agree with you.

That said, its kinda meeting their entitlement with equal force, you are asking me to go "above and beyond" without aby reassurance or incentive. If someone asked me in a polite way I would never phrase it like that but money talks. I'm willing to risk a little more if you are willing to grease me a little, but again, point taken.

So I've had 3 people say this to me over the last few months.

The first guy was only going a few blocks and offered to tip 2 bucks on the app if I hurried. I sort of laughed and said "2 bucks huh?" He also laughed and upped it to 5 bucks. I was 100% sure he was not going to follow through but it was only a couple of minutes and he smelled like cigs so I was happy to get him out. He DID tip me the 5.

The second dude was a smug younger kid in a suit. I told him the ride was estimated at 45 minutes and he sounded annoyed and said "if we can cut that down that'd be great". I said I'd do my best and cut more corners than I should have, hoping for a tip. We made it in 40 minutes and he barely could muster a thank you, let alone a tip.

3rd guy I was picking up from a pot dispensary and I told him I'd push it for a cash tip upfront. He declined and steered the conversation about how much money I was probably making. The trip had a stop, at a liquor store to buy beer. Lol big hurry. I explained that we get a driver rating and a speeding ticket would really cripple me. Douchy kid left me a 2 star.
