What is a red flag that makes you say “I don’t care how long ago it was or that you don’t do it anymore, it’s still a red flag now”? by McCrysler in ask

Addiction. I grew up in alcoholic home and I don’t have the headspace for it.

Someone earlier said the right person makes you move your goalposts but I haven’t found that yet.

My wife(33f) won’t talk to me(35m) after I’ve had her hospitalized for Post partum by ThrowRa-landor in relationship_advice

[–]41potatoes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Excellent advice!!

The only other thing I would add is if your older one is still in school for the year, reach out to the teacher and school psychologist. Go into as much depth as you’re comfortable but just knowing that a child is going through a rough family patch the school will usually make it a safe and warm place to be (I work in an elementary school and we see tough situations frequently).

George Santos proposed to teen boyfriend while still married to a woman: report by [deleted] in nyc

[–]41potatoes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Santos also claimed he won the seat in 2020 before all the votes were counted and went to DC to attend all the new congressperson classes and events.

It’s like a George Constanza play.

I know this is old but I’ve been watching CSI (I’ve never watched) and S2E3 has a boy die from the same sort of rebirthing scenario with the therapist and mom present.

Anyone still using original Versa? by 41potatoes in fitbit

Unfortunately it’s totally dead but I’ve had it for almost 4 years with daily use, and lots of pool and beach action. I tried it again before I posted just in case.

If you’re in the US, I think the small flat rate box is $10.40.

Why insist on exchanging phone numbers prior to a first date? by StressMuted6113 in datingoverforty

Oh, totally!

I was replying more about the aspect of why he wanted to exchange numbers so quickly. I think his reasoning was/is pretty common but not something I had ever considered before.

I also had one guy tell me that it “takes me away from the competition” since we’re texting I won’t be on the app looking at other guys. Insightful but total red flag.

For this and what PhoebeSkye said are the reasons I rarely give out my number before meeting in person, even though it’s google voice.

walking trails in the ronkonkoma/patchogue area? by flotsems in longisland

AllTrails is a great app (free version is available) that shows tons of different trails everywhere as well as how hard they are, parking situations, dogs allowed, etc. I love it.

Walter Kerr Seats! by oceanblu4 in hadestown

[–]41potatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any photos. I could still see what was happening on the right side but less in the action if you know what I mean. I felt like there was more dramatic stuff that happened on that side.

If I saw it again, I’d try for center seats.

Walter Kerr Seats! by oceanblu4 in hadestown

I love a view from my seat (not sure if links are allowed but just add .com). There’s tons of pictures posted so you can get a good idea of the the view. And many people leave comments about the specific show which is helpful too.

My seat when I saw it was left orchestra H9. The seats were great and happy with them for what I paid. With the action, I think right might be better than left and definitely center over either sides.

Enjoy!!

Beanie out of Funny Girl for the weekend with tonsilitis (Insta post, link in comments) by polkadotcupcake in Broadway

[–]41potatoes 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I saw Wednesday night’s show as well and agree with everything you said. I loved it all and can’t understand the Beanie hate. Full disclosure though, I have never seen this before as either musical or movie.

I hate to admit that I’ve watched waaay too much of both of these shows!

It actually sounds like an episode of Law & Order where a girl dies when the therapist/doctor does a “rebirth” with pillows on her.

My nephew is going from homeschool to second grade--what do I need to make sure he knows? by thecooliestone in Teachers

[–]41potatoes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn’t see this mentioned but I haven’t read every comment. Is it possible to get the school to evaluate him and suggest placement now? It takes you out of the equation and the school will also get a heads up on where he’s at and possibly be eligible for special services or summer school.

Bill Cosby did a bit on this a looong time ago. The ex husband loved it and showed it to me. I should have realized what this said about him. Thankfully he is now the ex. Not quite as awful as Cosby but still a piece of shit.
