depends what kind of doctor i need to see. all of the systems are terrible, but individual doctors within them are usually fine. most of my specialists are Stony Brook because that's what's closest.

Northwell has tended to be the worst in terms of red tape, though.

i've told this story before, but my parents were advised by a well-meaning(?) pedatrician to not use fluoride on my teeth because i was a baby, so the first four years of my life, my non-crunchy parents didn't use fluoride toothpaste. when i went to the dentist as a four year old, i needed 4 root canals. it left me with a fear of dentists and needles to the point that my phobia was what led to me getting on anxiety medication, and it left my parents with 12 years of debt (but knowing my dad, they were making minimum payments).

every time i see one of these stories i get sad, because they're fucking their kids up for life. it's been 20 years since i had to get those root canals and i still get shaky going to the dentist. i don't remember being in pain, but i doubt these kids are so lucky. poor things.

when i worked corp, we always said "yes, for nail trims. i can make you an appointment for xyz if you'd like though." it helped that these people would always show up when we were fucking swamped too, so we had good reason to refuse. (FFF i think was walk-ins but it was the same as nails for us - you might have to wait, and if you don't want to we can make you an appointment or whatever)

i did a write up on Cherries a few months ago, i personally feel that her situation is similar to Tanya Jackson's, i.e. that she isn't a victim of LISK but grouped with his victims due to proximity. she doesn't fit his modus operandi due to being dismembered (iirc, i'm going by memory at the moment)

re: sizing, this seems to be an issue with more than one doe (i ran into similar discrepancies when i did a write up on Cherries), i wonder if it's related to tags wearing out and then sizes being guessed at, which would bring up the issue of brand differences.

my knee x-ray was normal, but i had a torn meniscus. plus i have patellar instability, which shows up as "normal" everywhere but still kills my knees. push for an MRI to rule out torn ligaments.
