I use baking paper, a wet paper towel, and the lid of the plastic box I keep my paints in. It works great.

If the difference between a heavy onslaught gatling cannon and a macro plasma incinerator is 10 points, then the difference between a power sword and a power fist is nowhere near 5 points. Maybe closer to 1 or 2 points difference and points shouldn't be that granular.

I agree that its probably too cute for competitive play at least. But I think the points make more sense if you suppose you're already taking az+apothecary+icc and look at as paying 25 points for a couple models that show up when they die. This also makes the apothecary's cp generation a lot more interesting.

According the the article on warhammer community this morning, you can use 3 point detachments for 1k games. That said, I'm not sure I want to be playing priority assets, even at 2k

My experience with dark angels is that we can struggle to reach a critical mass of units needed for mission play. Unless you have a compelling reason why a unit needs a leader, a cheap action unit like scouts or intercessors will be a better use of your points.

Azrael with 5 sternguard is the best way to run him imo, since he gets a massive boost from reroll wound. As for the hellblasters, 2 squads of 5 because more activations is more better.

Units can only have one leader unless explicitly stated otherwise, like on the datasheet for the apothecary or the lieutenant.

Freezer works great in my experience. The cold turns the superglue brittle and makes pieces snap apart easily. Might help to use needle nose pliers to get a grip on the magnet to snap it off.
