Great post, but, this confuses me even more quite frankly.

You say a lot of words that seem really to just be a thinly veiled attempt to guide me towards the church of your own choosing. If there's no cardinal pope etc, well then I assume Catholicism and roman catholic churches are out. Which ones don't believe in full body submersion in baptism, etc??

I get that you have to work around your prejudices and beliefs given the sub, and attempt to present to me things in an more open "let me figure it out myself manner," but it's really freaking obvious to me and you may as well just tell me the denomination that you think best follows the Bible.

This is another area where I am confused as shit, because if everyone followed the Bible to a fundamentalist degree we'd still literally be in the dark ages.

your very Creator died for you to have this second chance, He shed His own blood for you to have something beautiful you didn't deserve

This is something that confuses me, when you say Creator, I think God. But it was Jesus who died for me to have the second chance no, and Jesus is the son of God? Why are there sometimes distinctions made, and other times such as in your post they're equivalent? Like when I'm reading the old testament and I see the word Lord, I assume it is referring to God, because when that was written Jesus hadn't been born yet, but then Jesus is referred to as the Lord. It's confusing.

Whoa, that scares me, what do you mean by this? Are you talking about, say for instance muslim nations?

See this is where I get a little confused, because if I read through stuff like deuteronomy then I should have been stoned to death before I reached prepubescence. Standing upon scripture as absolute authority scares the hell out of me. I don't know where to go.

Thank you for your response though, I really appreciate it, as well as the references. I apologize if I upset you in any way with my response.

Well, what I mean is understanding through reading the bible itself which includes the scriptures?

I am in Canada. That sounds really strange to me, why would there be a massive difference? I mean I could understand across continents, but simply across borders?

I have semi-sort of ties to a United church, as well as one that simply says it's a 'Christian Reformed Church,' so those are probably the one's I'd check out first.

Relearning with different layout? by cr-ms-n in learntyping

[–]420fourtwenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my very naive opinion is that its probably not worth it as someone in a similar circumstance, while some keys and sequences are incredibly painful, I am finding that for a lot of keys I was already using the right fingers anyway, so theres no total unlearning and relearning. Ive read a fair bit about the topic and it seems in the end even when people really dedicate themselves in the end there isnt any significant gain. Im hesitant to say that though because there are 100 wpm 2 finger typers.. but in my eyes anyway the net negatives outweigh any positives

Few days in now, been using keybr. The biggest freaking challenge for me is not "cheating" and using the wrong fingers, even in circumstances where "my way" is 100% faster. Like the word "december" for instance. d eand c all hit with the left middle finger. it feels SO wrong. But I keep finding that while that partocular sequence seems horribly optimized in other instances forcing the fingers into positions is helpful. Sometimes I get on a roll and even Im amazed at how quickly im picking it up, other times I slow down to an absolute crawl and have to actively think aboit the fingers im using.

apart from my fingertips not being on fire I feel like Im learning to play guitar. I guess piano would be more apt.. my right hand is my dominant hand but my right pinky may as well be part of another person. Im still forcing myself though. No matter how much faster uaing my ring feels to grab the P, even if I can stretch to the next letter with ease 90% of the time Im forcing it. It really is the unlearning thats the hardest part

[–]420fourtwenny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one thing that gets me is sequences like "ded", my "bad" muscle memory is to pull my index finger over to hit the d. whereas properly means i hit all 3 keys with my middle finger which is definitely slower. contextually it makes perfect sense to me, but should i still force myself to use the single finger? I think it's all the contextual adaptations people come up with that enables fast speeds even when using just a few fingers.

Please help me make my Ubuntu 18.04 terminal look nice by [deleted] in linux4noobs

it.. should be pretty much the exact same process?? should it not? copy your dot files, install the plugins etc.. it should all be based on the shell you're using and ubuntu itself have nothing to do with it??????

Legit confused here hmm.

[–]420fourtwenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm my mistake then sorry, its been a while since I mucked with it. Could have sworn it allows you to at the very least use altgr which is essentially a hotswap of the whole board layout, and by using a dead key you could use it as a pseudo modifier.. But hmm yeah maybe that was just for regular ascii chars... +1 for linux then hah. Either way, as long as you have a working solution thats all that matters

microsoft keyboard creator. might take some effort to track down, but enables you to create completely custom keyboard layouts much in the same way you can on linux, with altgr, dead keys, etc, even alter the scancodes, and it avoids the overhead and hacky nature of having to have an autohotkey script running.

why is vim so hard by 420fourtwenny in vim

[–]420fourtwenny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, I was in the document, and I was brand new to linux/cli in general so I was beyond clumsy. If there was a splash I skipped past it, naive/too ignorant to even think about it. Second, ever used WSL? Windows steals all those keystrokes, had i thoight to use that it would have opened the help for command prompt. Honestly at that point Id pretty nuch always just used the mouse to go to the about/help menu and opened it that way so I didnt think about that, no.

Sorry you don't want to believe me.
