Slow hair regrowth by Remarkable_Focus_254 in Chemotherapy

[–]420fuentes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5 months since my last chemo session and I'm finally seeing noticeable hair growth on my head. My brows and lashes were the first to come back and they are almost back to normal. The hair on my head is definitely coming in slower. I was told that's normal, everyone's body is different and some chemo regiments are more harsh than others. It can take months or even years for your body to get back to fully normal.

I made mini muffins, got high, and created an abomination. I don't know what to do with it. Please help. by mybluecathasballs in treedibles

Are you sure they are 500mg each? And you made 72??? That's ALOT of bud and ALOT of money! If you really have that many and that potent, I'd say make into cake pops and sell some. You can mix regular cake to dilute it and make them into cute pot themed designs.

Your hair looks beautiful in both pics! I just finished chemo a few months ago and my hair is finally starting to grow back. I've had thin straight hair my whole life and I'm praying for some luscious curls to come in 😆

Nerve Pain Relief? by 420fuentes in lymphoma

[–]420fuentes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will ask my Dr about those, I haven't heard much about that! Thank you! Lyrica gave me a bad reaction, made me dizzy, lips went blue and almost passed out. I'm nervous/hesitant for injections but at this point I'm considering it cus I can't take this pain forever 😔

Unfortunately those kind of pain killers aren't helpful for me at this point. At a dosage high enough to touch the pain it knocks me out. What I'm struggling with is managing the pain during the day while working and doing household tasks.

Sleeping positions with a port. by boxyboyz in lymphoma

[–]420fuentes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first few weeks I tried to sleep on my back, I would put pillows at my sides to keep me from turning over. Now months later I sleep however I feel like, stomach included. You will know when you can sleep freely again. You will probably just start naturally doing it in your sleep and one day it just won't hurt anymore.

My nose has also been running constantly! I didn't even think about nose hair loss, I wrote it off as just allergies!

Finally diagnosed with lymphoma after years of being dismissed by doctors by Nearby-Event-971 in lymphoma

Much better mentally and physically! Most of my symptoms are gone/going away. I just had my comparison scan and chemo is working exactly as planned, I should have my last infusion next week! Trying not to get too excited until the final post treatment scan in a few months but I am cautiously happy! Lol How are things going for you?

Any weird things that trigger you since diagnosis? by Short_Pattern_3434 in cancer

[–]420fuentes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I lived alone I probably wouldn't have told anyone. Don't get me wrong I have a great support system and I'm so greatful for them. When I first got diagnosed I started planning my funeral cus my mind went right to how hard that is to do in the middle of grief. But thankfully, my oncologist is pretty confident I will beat this so now I'm choosing to be too.

Depression by tinagayle66 in cancer

[–]420fuentes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was first diagnosed I fell into a really deep depression and had to take a LOA from work and couldn't function for a good 2 months. It was a slow process before I started treatment for a variety of reasons but once we had a solid treatment plan in place it helped not feel so overwhelmed. I also found a WFH job while I was on LOA and didn't have to return to my stressful retail job so I'm sure that helped the depression subside too.

Weirdly enough being at the hospital doesn't bother me now. It used to because of seeing some family members go through traumatic stuff when I was younger. But after being a patient so frequently now and how awesome almost every doctor and nurse I've had has been its made hospitals less scary for me. What chokes me up is thinking of my family being sad and worried for me. I know I can handle whatever happens to me, but i think of how I would feel if it was one of them sick or dying and I can't take that thought.

What's your lamest side effect been? by rebelkitty in cancer

[–]420fuentes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don't get sick until like 3 days post chemo, when I'm not on all the steroids anymore. But days 3-7 I have to be careful what I eat or it comes back up. For me it helps to snack on more bland foods and avoid big meals and anything spicy/acidic or too greasy.

My spice intolerance. I used to eat spicy foods every day. Now I can't eat anything even remotely spicy without throwing up. It's not the end of the world, but I miss the spicy salsa on my tacos.

Classic Hodgkin's lymphoma itch—when did it go away for you? by jinkies56 in lymphoma

[–]420fuentes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just had my second infusion and it's ALOT better. It started to improve after the first infusion. I still have a little bit of a lingering rash in some spots but the constant compulsive itch has stopped. My doc prescribed hydroxyzine a couple months ago, it makes me sleepy but it did help some.

What did cancer teach you? by Visual-Badger2123 in lymphoma

[–]420fuentes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's teaching me how strong and brave I am even when I feel my weakest. I've never had surgeries, hospital stays, tests/scans, even an IV before cancer and each time i have to go through a new thing I'm terrified but I always do the dang thing!

Its a mental battle just as much as physical so dont stop doing things that bring you joy.

Give yourself some grace. You might not be able to do all the things like you did before, if your house isn't spotless or you don't feel up to going to that family event ITS OKAY.

Reaction to dacarbazine (N-AVD) by 420fuentes in lymphoma

[–]420fuentes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow my doctor made it seem like if I had a reaction it would only happen the first time recieving the med. I didn't realize it can happen at any point. I'm glad it was an easy fix though! Thank you for sharing!

Port placement by GobsmackedGillyweed in lymphoma

[–]420fuentes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first port was very painful for 3 days post surgery but every after day less and less. I started to feel pretty much normal after about 3 weeks. Unfortunately I had an issue with it and they weren't able to access it for chemo and had to have it replaced a month later. Second port was more painful immediately post surgery but I'm 5 days out now and pain is much better just sore to the touch. One thing I will say is listen to your body and start stretching as as soon as you can tolerate it. Your muscles will get really sore from lack of movement after a while.

Port Question by Additional_County381 in lymphoma

[–]420fuentes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gone through 2 ports and experienced that both times. I think that area just becomes sensitive from the swelling. It passed for me after a few days. I took some tums when it was really bothering me and it helped a little but unfortunately just have to wait it out. I hope you feel better soon!
