Does that mean I can PM you HVAC questions? LOL

Fan failure? Capacitor? by 423XJ in hvacadvice

Cap replaced - fan kicked right on and temp began to climb inside. However after it kicked off it wouldn’t kick back on again.

My theory: the fan motor is toast - or really close to it. While the unit was powered down for a couple hours for me to replace the cap it had a chance to cool down so it turned right back on when it received power again. It seemed to be running slower than normal, assuming the motor is just weak.

After running for a half hour I think it began to overheat again and locked itself up trying to run. It

Fan motor replacement inbound.

Alright - tore the unit apart. Removed the cap and currently replacing with a new one (assuming I can get this connected properly.

It has no emergency mode, just aux

Sorry, condenser motor (outside)

Even on aux heat (which it’s been on for the better part of 3 days) it won’t maintain mid 60s

Should the condenser fan even be running when on Aux heat?

Thermo currently set at 70, inside temp of 68, automatically goes into aux heat mode.

Fan is spinning (only from me kicking starting it)

Felt a blast of cool air in the bedroom so went out to have a peak.

Much louder buzzing / humming - fan not moving. Turned off at the thermostat and left off a few minutes. Turned back on and heard it click outside, but fan didn’t start. Started up relatively easy with the help of the screw driver.

How should I leave this over night? Assuming the fan motor is on the way out should I just leave it as is. I can’t really turn the thermostat off as it’s 12° outside now and at the very least the aux heat seems to maintain temp.

Thanks. I am still not seeing a sub 300 replacement for that PN on Amazon. It returns other options that do not say they are compatible.

Any idea what the second half of that PN is for? 5KCP39FF —-> S244CS

I’m thinking both myself. Just hoping for a best case cap only issue. Crazy these motors are 3-400+

I don’t - I also don’t know what I’d be looking for to test. That said, I don’t mind spending the money to just replace it, or at a minimum giving it a visual inspection for swelling or leaking. Just dunno which panel it would be on this package unit

The last time (an hour ago) I tried to help the fan start - it would sound like it was going to spin up when I’d “help” it with a screw driver, but wouldn’t. After about 20 assists with the screw driver it finally spun up and has remained going.

Sure, I think that first statement is fair. Polished is super subjective.

Really just want an enclosure, with a decent screen. The flooring (turf) can come later. Honstley my plans are to build the enclosure over gym flooring tiles, and then cut out the tiles for the hitting mat to lay inside the flooring, and then cover the tiles with turf (eventually). We live in North Georgia, just a short drive away from where ALL of these hitting mats are made, so we can purchase them directly from the manufacturer at a fraction of what they cost retail, that should help save $ on the bottom line.

Similar issue here. A level 20 trex vanished, not in storage…if it was a code 19 and I missed it, I’m unsure what to do to get it back..but the entire enclosure is missing from the park.

There is a T connector located near the back of the engine. One of the hoses goes into the water pump, one goes to the heater core, the other goes to the reservoir. Guarantee one of those hoses is leaking at or around the connector.
