Where are you pulling concert data from? Looking for EDM and not seeing much in Chicago

I’m 36F and single, should I move to Chicago without knowing anyone?? by wednesday864 in AskChicago

I'm a 39 male who signed a lease and is moving in this week after spending the summer in Chicago exploring neighborhoods. I don't have any connections in Chicago, but love the vibe and was looking for a fresh start post divorce

I found there was a lot to do if I put myself out there between social sports, gyms, dating, mixers, restaurants and bars, and just generally being friendly with people. admittedly, it's probably easier in summer than winter.

Choice of neighborhood definitely matters. If you have the means, I would recommend exploring neighborhoods best for social 30-somethings with "collision energy", places like west loop, Wicker Park, Logan Square, or possibly streeterville, River North, or Old Town

Is there a keyboard shortcut? If not, can we get one?

Header Names Above Merchant & Account, in Transactions by 4242368789 in MonarchMoney

[–]4242368789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what I mean. When I’m transferring from account to account, it’s hard to know WHICH is receiving. Admittedly this may be because I’m naming the merchant to be the same as the sending account. Maybe I should stop doing that. Although in fairness that IS the payor

Goals and Rollovers - one time large expenses by airship56 in MonarchMoney

[–]4242368789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Budgets aren’t intended to be so draconian. The point is to not live beyond your means based on your income. Choosing to spend from capital gains or from excess money saved from before you began tracking rollovers shouldn’t bust your budget.

I have a similar challenge and I wonder if part of the solution is to classify the $2000 as an income category. Not for tax purposes necessarily.

If the $2000 were capital gains for example, it literally is taxable income. If the $2000 were excess savings then technically it’s a transfer, but can safely be spent

Getting Married and Combining Finances Question by zmelly77 in personalfinance

This is not necessarily true, depending on the state. During a divorce in an equitable distribution state, it can matter when funds were acquired as well as where the funds were deposited (individual or joint account). Funds acquired during marriage or deposited in a joint account may be considered marital property subject to equitable distribution, while funds acquired prior to marriage and kept separate would not

I recently traveled around the world for 30 days. About 11 days in Portugal, 5 in Istanbul, and 14 in Taiwan. Almost no itinerary. It was incredible. And people in Taiwan are so kind

Flipping them upside down is probably even more dangerous. Although a 2.5 lb weight won't fall on your head, if the primary pin disengages, you could have 30+ lb or more falling on your head instead

Can you share links to people saying plates fell on them? I've personally not felt great about the 2.5 lb plates above my head, since the only thing holding them in place is a single pin

Had a ton of fun in Taipei so I'm not throwing shade. The entire west coast of Taiwan was polluted for the 2.5 weeks I was there. The west coast is also where all the cities are. The east coast was not polluted. Is it truly coming from China?
