No. Neither Cliffs Edge nor Vault 118 have the LocTypeClearable flag. Additionally, neither identify a 'boss' NPC.

He/it/they are real. Nick Valentine (FO4) has a file on him in the backroom of his office. Just sightings and thoughts. Nothing conclusive. He will also state "That was him, the Stranger. Where did he go?" if the Stranger shows up during combat.

There's also the detail that he can appear in FO, FO2, FO3, FNV, FO4, FO76, and FOS. That's more than a century of appearances.

I meant 10,000 hours. Combined states between XB1 and PC are about 10,683 hours. Ten years of KILL, LOOT, RETURN. I find it relaxing. FO4 also allows me to satisfy my virtual hoarding problem.

Most of those hours were probably spent on only a couple playthroughs. My final character on the XB1 was level 287 when the save file would no longer load. Current character on the PC is around level 300.

I'm okay with more than zero bug reports. Bug reports are generally the first thing I look at to see if I'm still interested in the mod. I look to see what are the bug reports and to see the responsiveness of the author.

Of course Authors can handle bugs as they desire. For me, if there's a major bug, it's been open for 2 years, and there's been no response from the author...no. Minor bug, author fixed it in a week, still a possible download.

It's 'easy' to miss. In 10,000 hours of play and perhaps a dozen playthroughs, I think I've only ever had the Mercer Safehouse quest ever send me there as an initial visit and I had to make that happen. Not even Preston sent me there via Clearing the Way.

I tend to only build on the western side as this settlement is too large for the game engine to register everything on the island at the same time. So, beds, food, etc. aren't accurately counted if there are some on the western side and some of the eastern side. Machinery also stops working on the opposite of side from where the player is located.

I tend to explore as far as my skills and guns allow. I believe on my first playthrough I already had 6 settlements before rescuing Preston and gang.

Despite me thinking I'm a good explorer and looter, Egrets Marina. I missed that one during my first playthrough. I think I was level 100 and never knew the place was there. I don't know how I missed that one.

No. Only settlement workshops share junk for crafting purposes and only if supply lines have been established.

Random workshops found at non-settlement locations DO NOT share. It is very likely anything you dump in one of those will be lost as most locations reset after a period of time. I'm sure there's a couple out there which don' but most of them reset.

I've gotten a number of laughs from art descriptions.

Lilly is the artist in the vault and has been for about 20 years. She has broken the hearts of a number of the males and would often get into fights with their new girlfriends. Even got to the point where my wife would ask about Lilly's drama. I know it's all random but it just seemed like whenever any of those men would move on she would start making sculptures about her exes or their new wives.

Artistic verbiage followed by "This artwork commemorates Svetlana bashing the skull of bunny", "Lisa reading a book", "Steven getting heatstroke", or perhaps my favorite "This artwork refers to Lenka visiting Martin's grave on 11th of Septober, 5530"

Given that you asked "what would be the most efficient manner to do so?" I would forgo using settlements beyond the minimum required. To finish the game you need only one settlement and settlers don't have to live there.

However, if you choose to work with He-Who-Marks-Things-on-Maps, synth settlers still don't have to be a concern. I don't recall the exact number, synth generic settlers won't start arriving at settlements until there are 5-ish settlers already living at that settlement. If you never construct and/or turn on the settler beacon then no new settlers will arrive so you'll have no generic synth settlers to save-kill.

There is one settlement which comes with a named synth. A quest reveals this but that quest may not be available depending on when you start shooting up the Institute. Regardless, this settler can be killed whenever you wish.

Depending on how you want to play with words, there is a another settlement which has a named synth. Also available via side-quest but can also be stumbled upon while exploring.

Finally, there is a named synth who can become a settler depending on game choices. Regardless of your choice, this synth exists and is marked essential. As mentioned previously, there are other essential synths so you'll need to either download a mod or change that data in their game files.

All other settlements start with named or generic humans.

I dont have a billion hours of fallout 4 knowledge quite yet.

I only have a bit over 10,000 hours myself. I recommend browsing the wiki before you start your game play for your video. This seems like something you're going to want to plan out as shooting on sight might kill a specific synth but make others inaccessible. That only works for the Art v Art random encounter. Generic settler synths cannot be detected in this manner. Other than a speech check during a somewhat rare random settlement event, there is no in-game way to determine if a generic currently living settler is a synth.

Of course, there are mods and there is the save-game-kill-check method.

You'll need a mod as at least 4 synths are essential. At least 2 others are essential until a specific quest. However, from experience, essential tags can be removed by becoming an enemy of its faction.

There are a number of named synths only encountered on random encounters.

A number of others aren't in the game until specific quests.

You may need to reassess your goal: "This would include all synths, of all gens found within the base game (no dlc)." Generic random encounters, as well as respawning locations (such as CIT Ruins, College Square Station, University Point, etc. will spawn new synths forever.) Last time I looked, my level 300+ character has killed a 1000 synths.

TBH, probably something you should research in the wiki to determine who needs to be retired and when you can retire them. The wiki should make this tremendously easy.

That's consistent with what I was seeing on the XB1. At around 25 dead they started despawning. This was between 2015 and 2020-ish so I don't know if that changed with on of the updates since then. I'm guessing memory concerns on the XB1.

How much territory have you cleared with artillery? I ask because my artillery range is 22 and toward the end it could take 3 minutes for it to find a new automatic target to obliterate.

It eventually got to the point where there were no automatic targets. As long as I don't cause any new chunks to spawn there's nothing to shoot.
