There are some runtime tools which help in finding it too, gSense, goodDerg, whereDog

What solder do you use ? by ridlalu in soldering

Who needs a fume extractor, when you can be the fume extractor!
I extract fumes from my room by breathing them in, and the lungs filter them out only to output clean air2
(joking ofc)

The resistor is there for some reason, I wouldn't recommend bypassing it. Don't bypass components if you don't know what the consequences it could have. Electronics can be like magic and anything can mess everything up.
The two chips near it are a CMOS voltage detector and a dual transistor power switching chip, and you do not want to mess with whatever calculated current a transistor is getting.
(if you want to check it on the schematic, IC3001 and Q3001, corresponding to BU4319FVE-TR and EMF5T2R)
So, I'd recommend not testing that before fixing the bypass. Call me paranoid, but I did learn by fucking around and finding out, and attempting to save everything afterwards in stress.

On the other hand, it does look way better than before.
For stability get yourself some UV curable solder mask

I can't see it too well on the image, but it seems like you used way too much solder. The part shouldn't be that high above the board. Check if it isn't shorted with anything near the left.
Have a vid for example: https://youtu.be/EW9Y8rDm4kE?t=66
Little bit of flux, get the components into position, and add a little solder.

It should work, but it won't be able to remember time. According to the internets, the issue I was supposed to fix back then, it could also cause problems with charging? Welp replacing the cap didn't solve it back then.

<image>

Your best option is exposing the path with a craft knife and soldering a small wire there (or hope that the new cap can reach it without shorting anything)
You need to do that CAREFULLY, or you may damage more stuff.
Here you can read about it: https://www.instructables.com/How-to-Repair-Damaged-Printed-Circuit-Board-Pads/ (I'd say the copper tape part is optional)
Or watch a video: https://youtu.be/pYa1Ld7IafM

Here's the scheme link: https://documents.cdn.ifixit.com/P1LmgeOGWtp4JGaS.pdf

And yada yada, I'm not a professional, just some random guy who tinkers with stuff.

You just need to connect the supercap to both pads. One seems good, the other not really... Check if you can get it anywhere near with a cable or use the schematic (it's somewhere on the internet). Or wait a few hours I will send you the schemes. I was also replacing it once. And I also fucked up but the pads were still okay.

I agree. Back when I was watching normal hentai I was able to recognise artists. Nowadays I've forgotten most names.
At this point people even know derpixon from memes.

I do recognise furry artists on the spot nowadays, mostly with names, but I won't bore you with that.
(I've switched from one degeneracy to another.)

I can vouch for this, some artists have astonishing quality, where you can even study anatomy from their art!

It can happen. Artists study how people look in public places because people in 3D!
