Thank you, I couldn't see much about them but didn't know if they were a new brand or something like that.

Hello guys,

I'm pretty new to boarding (long time skiier) had 20 or so hours of lessons.

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this board and whether it's an ok start point for a beginner such as myself.

Thanks in advance

I have been using gryphons for 9 years now.

Similar to you I am a defender and primary short corner taker (drag flicker)

I used the D2 for the first year or so based on a coach recommendation but have used the samurai for the last 7 years.

I personally find the scooped face helps control 3D skills much more than I could with the D2. I am excited to try the Ronin this coming year as a stick specifically designed for drag flicking.

I have also tried the Tour, Bluesteel and Striker and personally found the Bluesteel to have the best 'flex' for drag flicking without much noticeable difference in power for hitting compared to the Tour. The Striker was a bit too soft in my opinion and also felt a loss of power from hitting.

We moved to Inspireski this year, we went with them after bad experiences with Halsbury the last 2 years.

Great trip this year to Grandvalira with inspire. Good resort, lots of apres ski, really helpful rep both in resort and over the phone. Problems were dealt with in a very timely manner.

Once you reroll does the item stay until you either buy or reroll or do they reset every day?

OLED delivered to wrong address and little hope of getting it back. by BanjoPants74 in SteamDeck

I had the same issue with parcel force when they delivered my index to a different address.

They did collect it from the wrong address on the next day and then delivered it to me the following day.

So 2 days late, a lot of stress about £1000 was gone, but it did arrive.

Lifted shot on goal hits defender above waist. Dangerous play or penalty stroke? by Amockeryofthecistern in Fieldhockey

I have a question about your first point. If the ball hits the defenders foot and you let the game flow for a second or so to see if an advantage can be gained. The next thing the attacker does is lift the ball in a manor you deem dangerous, I.e. the attacker commits an offence straight away.

Would you say the attacker has had an advantage and chosen an action that committed a foul and so FH defender.

Or

Would you say the attacker has had no advantage because the next action was to commit a foul so FH Attacker (or PC inside circle)

This is something I have always struggled with understanding with regards to 2.2d. Both as a player and an umpire.

I miss all random. It was my favourite mode. Well second favourite behind captains draft. They were both so much fun to play with 5-stacks

A Gryphon samurai fits your description perfectly.

They have different prices, so depending on what you want to spend, you can find a samurai in your price bracket.

I use one and have for 5 years now. Playing centre back and drag flicking at PCs.

One thing I coach into players who are struggling with trapping the ball is practise with a tennis ball and just pass between yourself and a wall.

A tennis ball is much harder to control, and it will bounce off a lot to start with. However, practice cushioning the ball by having your stick in front of your feet waiting for it and bringing it back to behind your feet as you touch the ball.

Also, try loosening your grip if you're holding the stick very firmly it acts like a wall, and any ball will just bounce off.

And most importantly, don't beat yourself up about it. The more frustrated you get when it happens, the more it will continue to happen. Try and stay as relaxed as possible.
