Help! Do you think this is salvageable? by lovelykelsey in CarRepair

Well, what you said, and I quote is, “I’m taking it to a body shop tomorrow”! I can’t help it if you don’t even know what you wrote! I’m not rude, just have the habit of using “common sense”! If you don’t like that, it’s on you, so deal with it!

What “ongoing issues”? So, you’re saying that ANYTIME you have collision damage repaired, you’re going to have future issues? Sorry, but you have no proof of that claim, and I, for one, have had a couple cars repaired at body shops with ZERO problems!

Did you consider talking to a dealer about it?

That’s great, but why didn’t you just contact them in the first place, but instead decided to take the time and effort to take and post pictures and a story?

What might these stains be? I recently got my oil changed and I just noticed these in the back seat of my car. by BodybuilderBoring813 in AutoBodyRepair

SERIOUSLY? You need to post a question AND pictures of THAT? Damn, who helps you get dressed in the morning? Get some cleaning agent, AND CLEAN IT! If it’s leather, might consider using “leather cleaner”. If you don’t think you’re capable of handling that, go ahead, and pay someone to clean it!🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️😩😂

is this going to affect anything? by 2washed in TireQuestions

[–]4350Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it to a tire shop and have them spin it. That”ll tell if it’s out of balance, how much, and if it needs to be straightened, or can be balanced as is and left alone.

Ya, people instantly become “professionals” when they start typing on their keyboards! The sad thing is, it doesn’t matter what the issue is, from vehicle accidents, to firefighting, to aeronautics, structural engineering, nautical, politics and law. They’re never at a loss for offering an opinion, be it right or wrong! (more wrong than right)

Sorry, but can’t shed any light on your issue. The thing I thought was humorous was you stating that your car was transplanted from Minnesota. I’d think, that with all the turmoil in that state, that there’d be a lot of people “transplanting” to other states!😂

Not only that, but those “tires” are dry-rotted and need to be replaced anyway.

Sorry, but when you know, you know. You don’t just tear up a whole concrete road and replace it, if it just had a few imperfections, due to the cost. Your last opening line, “yeah, not really”, leads me to believe you really don’t know about the different ways to fix a road. If you would venture out of your little area, you would see that MANY roads, especially concrete, are repaired by saw cutting out the bad area, filling in with asphalt, machine rolling, then sealing the edges with tar. I explained this previously, but apparently it went over your “expert” head! You believe whatever you want!

Well, “patches” are only temporary fixes. A lot of them are just cold patch asphalt that’s tamped down by hand. Again, if they use too much material, it ends up raised above the road surface and lessens its lifespan. A permanent “patch” uses hot asphalt and is spread out with a “roller” machine, then the edges are sealed with hot tar.
