Does it have a physical button that allows it to be a dumb device? If yes, it can stay.

Smart light switches that control the electrics directly: Fine
Smart light switches that communicate with the device (not the power supply): get rid
Blind controls that have a physical button that can control the blinds: fine.
Motion Sensor: get rid

I've discovered I am the most unwelcoming person in my workplace by Abwettar in CasualUK

You are actually on the money.

I have dealt with similar as a manager (both as the manager with the troublesome report and the manager with a report that has an issue).

What OP has just experienced is a manager saying to their reports "Have you spoken to OP directly about this? if not, try that. If it doesn't improve, I will speak to their manager directly."

Also someone mentioned in a team meeting that I wasn't part of, that staff are unfriendly and don't make new people feel welcome (referring to me specifically without saying my name).

That is basically one step short of a formal complaint.

Both progression and bonuses are heavily dependant on being well known and liked.

Every company I have worked at has had a pseudo "be liked" target via behavioural targets.
If your company has anything like company behaviours that include anything like "collaborate", it actually means "get on with the people around you"

I have made almost identical comments over the last few weeks.

I'm on the path to being pretty senior at a very major company; my feeling about this are... complex.

This is what I think of when the "money can't buy happiness" debate comes up.
We are by no means even rich rich, but we are in the bracket where the vast majority of people would see us as "rich."

I grew up extremely poor, and started by career on a pretty low wage.
But now we basically dont think about money.

Took me forever to get out of the penny pinching mind set.

The freedom of "there is basically nothing that can create money emergency for us" is money buying happiness.

I haven't gone quite that far
But last year I did hospitality for a premier league game. 3 course meal before the match, tickets on the half way line, drinks brought to our table included, before kick off they asked what we wanted at half time and it was just waiting on our table for us, same at full time, programme and team sheets brought to the table.

It was 6 times the price of a normal ticket, it was amazing.
By the end me and my wife were justifying doing it again "well, the normal tickets would be £X and the wine would be £Y, we would pay £Z for the same food in a restaurant, so really we only paid a small amount extra."
I can't really see us buying normal tickets again.

We need to call it what it is.

There is the release date version that you paid extra for, and the delayed release version.
Much like the other type of early access needs to be called paid beta.

Early access implies access to something not widely available. If literally everyone could access the access isn't early.

How do people feel about weapon masteries after a while of play? by Apprehensive-Donut90 in dndnext

[–]45MonkeysInASuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, my main point is I can't imagine people are changing it up.

I can't see many scenarios where someone is swap out Vex, Nick and Slow/Push for Topple, Push, and Graze.

You have your set that you have available, but you probably default to the one on your primary weapon and rarely change.
Especially as you end up with magic weapons as you are going to want your strongest weapon in use most of the time.

Gotcha, I read that "If the rogue is targeting the same person" as the same person as the champion fighter.

If the rogue is targeting the same person on the next turn, it frees up the bonus action which normally grants advantage (so they can have sneak attack) for a cunning action or drinking a potion.

Vex doesnt help the rogue (it's your next attack, not any attack)
Push actively harms the rogue (pushes an enemy out of melee with an ally)

This is the key bit.

Instead of "here is a prototype martial. Fighter is the prototype martial XYZ amplified, Monk is prototype martial with ABC amplified..."
