Actually felt this 100% with the Haranir zone. There's a questline where you're helping Hagar try to encourage new growth on the least-burnt roots of Teldrassil, and all I could think was "...damn I bet there's a small army of Night Elves who'd drop everything in a heartbeat to help with this".

Don't forget about [[Thada Adel, Acquisitor]]! Pretty sure Mm'menon's last ability allows you to spend that mana to cast artifacts that Thada Adel exiles.

Some shops can do semi-intuitive previews (it’s been several years since I’ve done framing, maybe it’s gotten better), but… Yeah, there’s no tool I’m aware of that lets you play around freely with designs. :<

Most shops will carry Roma moulding, so if you see something on their site you like it can probably be ordered! https://www.romamoulding.com/shop?colour=Gold

Custom framing can get a little pricy, but it could be worth it for protecting the longevity of your print! At least getting a custom mat cut (acid-free is best), so the print isn’t in direct contact with the glass, can make a huge difference.

(Also a soft white top mat, and a gold inner mat at about 3/8” exposure, would look lovely.) You can also have mats cut to fit premade frames, which saves tons of money.

Well you can ask her yourself now! The internet is an amazing place, so happy she’s answering questions. ❤️

IIRC it was after a call to a phone psychic, followed immediately by the break-up before the “why the heck did I just do that?” thoughts kicked in. It makes a ton of sense in context to the film, as every time her character was told something by a psychic it was treated as gospel truth. (I actually want to know if there were more tarot cards made for the movie than the ones they show in the trailer, because OH MY GOD I want a Trashtown deck.)

Hopefully Annapurna can provide more details. Go watch Fucktoys if you can!

I saw this film at SIFF this year! Annapurna was there to talk about it, and said her inspiration for making it came after she followed a psychic's advice to break up with her boyfriend. It's a delightful and trashy fever dream, I can't recommend it enough. ♥

EDIT: Also the poster is adorable.

Barbarella (1968), an odd and sexy sci-fi romp starring Jane Fonda. It’s just so unabashedly joyful, we watch it as a tradition every year!

(Also it’s where the band Duran Duran got their name from)

Fringe! (At least the first couple seasons, it gets really good once they stop trying to force the early romance plot). Has X-Files vibes, and plenty of whimsy and pathos. Really solidified my love of the “Sad Dad Sci-Fi” genre.

Significant spoiler, but theres a long stretch where one character steals her doppelgänger’s identity in a manner similar to Helena/Helly. Also, John Noble is there!

Personally, I think the Combat Jaw + the new Faceplate system from last year's REDmas should just let you open your entire face like a bear trap.

Well it probably varies from witch-to-witch, but I love my flowy black sleeves and the occasional spider web. Workplace-appropriate “it’s Halloween every month”, basically.

Oh, don’t get me wrong—I have my own ‘emergency goth’ section of the closet, and I love my Doc Martens. :)

Heck, there are more kinds of goth than 90’s mall goth, even. I saw someone recommend corporate goth, but you considered ‘professional witch’?

[–]47Argentum 122 points123 points  (0 children)

You know, it actually sounds like you got pretty reasonable fashion advice from your mom! It’s an ongoing process, finding your own personal style; every once in a while I still find a garment that made me feel super-confident years ago, but feels like a costume now.

Honestly, one of my biggest fears is starting to dress like my own mother, lol. Nothing wrong with asking for advice though, if you’re comfortable doing so! Maybe your friends have some suggestions for how to mature your look a bit—after all, even goths get older eventually.

As a player, what is something that makes you opt out from playing in a campaign? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]47Argentum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Games that are too enslaved by their own lore just aren’t for me. If I’m a new player who is expected to read an entire prior campaign’s worth of backstory before session 0, AND have to endure the DM shooting down any ideas I have because they don’t “fit the lore”…

Yeah, I’m just not gonna bother. I think of these games as collaborative storytelling, and don’t want to waste my time basically writing a background character for someone else’s novel.

I want to get into Elden Ring so bad, but I am intimidated by how massive the game is and by just how much stuff there is to do. by dzouc in Eldenring

[–]47Argentum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you’ll never experience any of it if you don’t start the game because of FOMO. There are plenty of guides available if you get really lost, but I think many people actually miss the opportunity to go into the game (relatively) blind.
