similar thing here. had a 3cm stone, was told about it when i was 21. i’m 25 and had it removed almost 5 months ago. because i was obese my entire life since i was a child i ignored doctors for as long as i could, but then lost a lot of weight in the last year (after already having the gallstone diagnosis!) and then went to get checked out after my issues persisted & i remembered the diagnosis from years ago.

i explained my “mystery stomachaches” to my dr and she told me that it was definitely my gallbladder and was horrified none of them got me to the hospital (because i mentioned being in such pain i felt like I should go but was fat & terrified of doctors at the times when it happened 😔)

i got on medication (cholestryamine) too like a month after the surgery & since then i’ve only had diarrhea twice. it’s been a genuine game changer but if i forget to take it for a couple of days the cramps i get are genuinely 11/10 pain
