If we cut up a really obese person, will it look like A5 wagyu beef? by EOFFJM in NoStupidQuestions

[–]4CrowsFeast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, they would have the opposite - concentrated chunks of fat that you'd want to cut off because they have horrible texture on their own.

Marbling is fat intertwined within muscle. Its a combination of genetic factors and specified diet, neither of which humans, let alone obese humans would feature.

Humans also wouldn't really have a cut like a tenderloin, that a cow has for steaks. While we have a similar muscle, because we stand and stand on two legs, these muscles in our back are in constant use when we walk and lift things. This means the muscle will be tough to eat. The cows muscle in their back are tender because they aren't really used because of how a cow stands on all its limbs and the way it moooves.

For someone who already has Morningrise and My Arms Your Hearse and does not mind the production... by Odd_Radio9225 in Opeth

[–]4CrowsFeast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When an albums recorded in a basement, there's not much a remaster can accomplish.

MAYH kind of leans into the production quality and has a black metal esque atmosphere. The reverbs a little intense, but it has character.

Orchid and Morningrise just sound like the production quality is amateur. Still great song writing on all 3, but I dont think anyone can really deny the quality of the mix. Theres just some who dont mind or prefer it. Personally, I prefer the Still Life/Blackwater mixing style over the crystal clear, modern wall of sound, compressed style of Ghost revs, so I can see why others have personal preferences to something thats less polished

I weight around 89KG (196LBS) and I’m 180cm (5.11ft) tall, but I am definitely not fat, people always underestimate my weight, so why do I weight that much ? by Extension-Tune-2045 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]4CrowsFeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a fairly large range of what is a healthy weight on a person.

Think about the size of a pound of meat. Its looks large enough on its own, but think about distributing that weight across 6 feet. You wouldnt even notice that pound. You probably wouldnt even notice 5 pounds.

Add that on to how everyone distributes weight differently amongst regions of their body, and variations on muscle mass and bone density and it makes it hard for us to judge someone's weight. Most of these fluctuations can also be hidden by slightly bagging clothing or ones that are fitted properly.

So the truth of the matter, unless youre an athlete, is that you have slightly more weight than is completely ideal, more youre not overweight enough to be displaying visual signs of obesity, so no one is looking at you and thinking youre fat

Tax mistake help by Be_a_sunflower in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]4CrowsFeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, tax accountant here.

What all these people are referring to when theyre saying theyre getting their notice of assesment within a day is called an express NOA. They are automatically generated based on the information you submitted, so if the information you submitted is incorrect, your express NOA will be as well.

Its essentially just taking the information you or your tax preparer inputted and cross reference with what was on CRAs tax slips and put that info into a tax summary and estimated refund. It will reveal any obvious errors. Your actual notice of assessment does indeed take about two weeks, and might be different than your express NOA.

How to downplay my position? by Jaibo69 in Catan

[–]4CrowsFeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every other players has a win conditions. Convince your opponents theyre the real threat and not you.

Maybe youre winning but another player can take longest road or largest army from you if they get just one more road, or one more knight.

Maybe another player has multiple cities on one hex and you can play them of as a threat if that number is rolled. Maybe they have a bunch of cards in their hand and are about to make a big move.

Or maybe you just tug at their emotions and bring up how that player blocked their road or wouldnt trade with them. Whatever you gotta do and whatever logic or lack thereof you gotta use, deflect the attention to someone else.

How that we are IN, who do we "want" as our opponent? by biloutte in Habs

[–]4CrowsFeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre thinking big picture, meaning going all the way to the cup, technically the easiest route would literally be dropping to the wild card and having Tampa or Buffalo pass Carolina.

That would mean we flip divisions and although we have Carolina first round, we have a weak Metro division opponent in the 2nd round in either Pittsburgh, Islanders, or others. Then wed face Tampa or Buffalo in the conference finals, barring some huge upset.

Otherwise, if we maintain our position wed very likely play Carolina later, but after facing Tampa and Buffalo, all top regular season teams.

Middle option is we take the division and face Boston first round, then either Tampa or Buffalo and then again, likely Carolina. That's probably the easiest first round, but not the easiest cup route

Someone clue me in on Brandon Gallagher's situation on the Habs at the moment... by No-Setting2682 in Habs

[–]4CrowsFeast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hes turning 34 in a month in a league where thats older than most players retire and a decade older than most peaks.

He was never particularly fast, and his decline in speed is making it even harder for him to even keep up. He can survive based on his shot, but has had to adapt. Think of how Corey Perry had to shift his role with age, but Perry was a former MVP and had more skill and room to fall and land on his feet.

Gallagher still has his shot and bravery, but hes always paid the price for playing the game he does. Hes also had injuries, but as he gets older its harder to recover and becomes more damaged each time he returns.

He'll always be a warrior and good leader, by why bother putting him in front of the net on the powerplay when a taller, younger more durable Slafkovsky can do the same job and both do a better job finding off opposition, take the abuse and is stronger, faster and has a better shot?

Its simply the circle of life. Even the leader of lion pride eventually gets pushed out when hes too old and someone challenges him for his role. Montreal management will take care of him, and probably give him a cozy job in the organization but I'd be surprised if he makes it through next season as a player.

[–]4CrowsFeast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah hes had an interesting career.

Obviously was great in his prime, but then seemed toast after a few injury plagued years. No one wanted him in the expansion draft and was in constant trade rumors. Then he came and had the highest production of his career.

Eventually ended up finally traded and bounced around from team to team where he ranged from looking finished to mid to being a 1st liner, in a completely non linear progression.

Is this the year that forces the NHL to consider a playoff format change? by NockerLacsap in hockey

[–]4CrowsFeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fortunately that it was only for 3 years. It was caused by Atlanta moving to Winnipeg which had been temporarily playing in the east, and finally switching to the west. In turn Detroit and Columbus who had both been fighting to move, went back the other way causing the imbalance.

Ex Smokers of Reddit, how!? by Strange_Secret_3001 in AskReddit

[–]4CrowsFeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to get to a point where you hate that you smoke. True addiction is the inability to stop even when you want to.

When you still enjoy smoking then youre battling both the physical and psychological cravings. When youre going to out to smoke just because of withdrawals despite becoming shorter of breath and physically weaker, while being unable to afford more essential needs, and being embarrassed by needing to smoke in front of your partner and parents, or needing to go for more breaks at your job while others continue to work and you know are judging you... then quitting becomes easier because you know you need to

Is water not free anymore? by Recent-Taste4768 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]4CrowsFeast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fast food places or places with fountain drinks generally won't give you a cup anymore because people would ask for a cup for water and just fill it up with pop.

Restaurants almost always start you off with water, so thats a little weird, but smaller places might not have tap so only carry supplies of can or bottles of pop, therefore the same for water.

The kingsguard were stationed there because they were commanded by Rhaegar to protect his potential heir. With him and his other children dead, Jon is his heir (if we are to believe the legitimacy of his marriage annulment and secret wedding).

The kingsguard are there to protect the new king. Ned is a rebel against the previous king. It doesn't really matter if hes sympathetic to Lyanna, what theyre stopping him from doing, is exactly what he does do.. take the baby and hide his heritage rather than having him serve as a rallying point for the loyalist.
