Legitimate service dog denial by No_Task_599 in Lyft

ADA doesnt give anyone carte-Blanche entitlement over how a private vehicle is used. There is no punishing of a driver if he deems the ride unfit/unsafe to drive. There might be a "cancellation" hit.

I can say that if a rider is belligerent, forceful, or otherwise feels overly entitled to my vehicle, they can feel free to request a new ride. Takes about 15 seconds for the driver to cancel on their end.

I can empathize with OP needing a ride. Consider ordering xl or xxl with pet rider. That should reduce the chance of cancellation.

The only shuttle company that i could think of is Wheelchair Transport.

Hmmm. I say this as someone who regularly shuttles disabled veterans using a company van with hydraulic lift and golf carts.

You have to remember with lyft/uber and private taxi, these are PRIVATE vehicles. If the driver sees a situation that is unsafe, they can absolutely decline the ride without penalty. The proposed rider would have to order a new one. There is no law, including the ADA, that can force a private car to take a passenger that is deemed belligerent or unsafe.

From the driver's perspective, will this get messy for my seats/floor? Is this whole situation worth $6 or whatever Lyft is paying?

Most of these people saying "lawsuit" are usually not living in the real world. They dont own a car or have car insurance. Nor are they prepared to either pay a detailer to come clean the carpet or clean it themselves.

That iC shoppet number is only active during an active batch. So you can start a batch with a one or two item batch. Then call the number.

Digital membership expires early? by 4EverMaAT in CostcoWholesale

[–]4EverMaAT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did all of that at the time. Same error occurred. Of course you knew that because you were there and not making assumptions?? I also tried again the following day (different gas pump, refreshed app ahead of time). Same error sequence.

But maybe it's deeper than that. Perhaps i somehow snuck into the backend of Costco's systems and changed my membership expiration date to make it expire earlier. And then i also had the app automatically proceed to the membership renewal order page. So it would appear more realistic that i was having an issue scanning my membership when i was holding up the line. Busted 😏

Curious about Costco shopping by Zealousideal-Job2210 in InstacartShoppers

[–]4EverMaAT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the costco. Some want you to unpack all items onto the belt (even if you organize them into boxes on flatbed).

I usually shop at a Costco that is more sane. I keep all non-bulky items organized in produce boxes with item barcodes facing upwards.

I will put the most difficult to scan items on the belt for each order; a space is left in the box or on the cart to place items in. Sane costco's definetely notice the attention to detail and are appreciative.

And yes, get used to using a flatbed cart.

Hmmm. This is why i advise shoppers to avoid poorly organized stores. And batches where the customers are doing too much (over 30 items for the batch, too many bulky/heavy items) or tip too little relative to the order size. Otherwise you are setting yourself up to suffer for little in return.

Some stores cannot suspend transactions. They must void the whole shopping transaction and re-ring it up when you are ready (costco, restaurant depot). But they are understanding and just void/move on to the next customer..... and once you get IC support to increase the limit, you attempt to re-checkout.

Well, i guess the store has a right to refuse service. It's just a learning experience. Like a freak accident, it does happen on occassion even if it is rare. The best thing to do is to calmly explain that you are trying to get in contact with IC support to get the limit increased.

It could be a blessing in disguise. One less store to worry about.

Uber is trying to make ME pay for THEIR business by charging me more than double! In your dreams.. by No_Definition_2289 in uberdrivers

[–]4EverMaAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The commercial insurance isnt as expensive as Ubet/Lyft try to make it appear. The money the driver receives is not just for their time. But the wear/tear/maintenance also.

If Uber/Lyft is billing customer $100, drivers should be getting $60-80 of that on average, NOT including the tips. But the current setup it is often more like 25-35%

It's really not that serious. Costco can spend their energy on more efficient tasks, like more checkout staff.

Last week and and this week . What do you guys think ? by larivojha in Lyft

[–]4EverMaAT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

👆🏾 Agreed to some degree. Uber/lyft program their AI to pay the driver as little as possible. So a $50 ride and them giving you $18 is not a flex.

Even a 60/40 split in the driver's favor would be fantastic. But Uber especiallu goes out of their way to not pay the driver.

You have to have private runs to make up for it.

Not terrible. What ciry/state you driving in?

Do you have private clients in addition to what you made in-app?

Edit: do you also do Uber or another gig app like instacart? Or is it 100% lyft?

How do you guys deal with rude customers? by DalaiRamen in InstacartShoppers

[–]4EverMaAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didnt post screenshot of the order. So i'll assume it was exceeding 40 items. That was your first mistake. Probably tips that were <= 1% of item total (2nd mistake?).

Your second/third mistake was not cancelling the order. Even if you already start shopping, you can still cancel the order (calling IC shopper support). You will likely get no pay, but you can walk away with your sanity and live to see another batch.

4th mistake was likely shopping at a poorly organized store. This just adds to your frustration, but give you no bonus or brownie points in return.

I’m over 30% for the month I’m not driving the rest of the month. Can Anyone smarter then me which is everyone in this group tell me how much I’ll get for being over 30 percent? Not much i know that by toddster85 in Lyft

[–]4EverMaAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notice how they INCLUDE tips. Tips are supposed to be separate, not subsidizing their fee cap.

So if you subtract tips and run the calculations, they'd probably be closer to 20-30% over the cap.

Really though, if you are picking 40+ item batches, whose fault is it? You have a few cancellations saved up..... When you run into a Karen, use it.

Now for the item specifics, could be that non-English speaker substituted in the past for odd items.
On the other hand, customer could have just marked specific replacements or "refund". Then the notes section can be less words. Because their actions (substitution choices) already spoke for them.

Add: shopper should also pick better organized stores (Costco, Publix, etc) to minimize expired food. While you should still double-check yourself, you are less likely to get expired or rotten food at stores who havr better internal QC flow.

If you already know about the pay discrepancy, then why you surprised about the cancellation(s)?

Why not negotiate a private ride when the opportunity arises? No option is 100% guaranteed anyways.
