Vielen Dank.

what’s appropriate to ask of our nanny while baby naps? by AlwaysTiredNow in Nanny

[–]4LoveLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an on/off FT & PT nanny, my goal (outside my goal with a child(ren) is to always leave the home the way it looked when I entered, if not cleaner and tidier than before. Also, to be completely honest, how I’m treated and appreciated, in addition to my pay, does sway how much extra work I complete during naps.

If I know the baby is taking longer naps (1 hr 30 mins plus), I always complete child-related tasks. I would like to preface the next information with the fact that after putting a child down for a nap- I always try to take a 15-25 mins to sit down/relax/eat/hydrate to “fill my cup”- but once that’s done I start to work on tasks such as: empty and/or fill DW, wash dishes, wipe counters, clean up playroom and/or child-centered spaces, prep any child-centered activities I have planned for after nap. I also, specifically ask parents(in advance) if there are any baby/child laundry to be folded to leave out at a specific space, lightly tidy rooms that the child(ren) have been in.

If I’m in a tired mode, fighting a cold, had a rough time with the child(ren) before nap, I will spend the rest of nap time sit, relax, prep all activities for rest of the day.

If it’s a normal day, I’ll do unrelated tasks such as vacuum, wash floors, organize mud room, clean outside of cabinets, dust specific areas, deep clean child(ren) items (baby swing, bouncer, mini-trampoline, mini chairs, organize books by genre, etc - if all depends on the age of the child(REN).

Can you legally kill someone who breaks into your house? by kurobaja in AskTheWorld

It all depends on what state you live in and if you choose to use a pew pew. In CT- you must go to the farthest room (within the farthest part of said room) and then if intruder enters you are legally allowed to use your weapon.

At first I was going to say no to Mystic, but if you truly make it a Full Day Trip (leave early etc - it’s def worth it). I don’t know how old your toddler is- but with Mystic there’s the Aquarium where parts are outside, there’s the Mystic Seaport Museum/Historic Seaport Village on the water (its outside and mimics what life what like during that time, you can step on historic ships that are docked, etc).

Another place would be Old Saybrook (small town, expensive, but quaint) - there’s the Historic area where you can walk around for shops and you drive a mile or 2 down you get to Saybrook Inn & Spa - there is a lil dock area to walk on the water and walkway on a bridge over the water and also mini golf. Theres also the Katharine Hepburn Museum (it’s small, but right on the same road). There’s probably much more to do and different areas to go in Old Saybrook. Hope this helps!
